CYC Landscaping

With a mix of artificial grass and hardscaping with pavers, CYC Landscaping gave my tiny backyard more space and little (to no) maintenance. The best investment I have ever made for my home. The work done was high quality and professional.

CYC Landscaping visited my house to provide a quote for some basic landscaping. I wanted a 6 ft BBQ island, a 3x5 foot fire pit, pavers and a 10x12 foot putting green with two cups. I talked to several landscapers previously to get an idea of price. CYC Landscaping quoted me over $32,000 for this job, a whopping $10,400 higher than my next highest quote!

Not even remotely in the ballpark. The very same day I received the quote, I emailed with some simple questions. I never heard from CYC again. It's highway robbery and my guess is they knew it. I look at it as someone trying to blatantly take advantage of another. Please proceed with caution.

She provided a quote but there were a few questions / changes and I wanted an updated quote. She never got back to me after one phone call and 3 emails. Very poor customer service. One star is being over generous.

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness We had Mark from CYC landscaping come and look at our backyard and told us will provide us the estimate, but even after multiple follow ups I never got the estimate. If they did not want to provide estimate not sure why they wasted our time coming and checking the backyard.

CYC designed and completed my backyard landscaping project 5 years ago, and have come back and added lights, new plants, etc.everything looks great and functions perfectly. Had an issue over the weekend with the lighting control system, called Monday, set up service call for Tuesday, Matt and Mason, the technicians arrived and replaced the unit at no cost. Super professional and informative. Have no idea how they could receive a bad review.

I emailed this company to get a bid 4 times and NO RESPONSE! Yesterday, I called and advised the gal that answered the phone to see if they retrieved the online messages and she said oh yes, I see it now. Really!?. after 5 days!? I told her I filled out and submitted for a quote 4 times. Her response. "Oh, I see it, I'll have someone call you!" Nobody called back.

Who wants to use this company with such poor status. Good luck to the people that use them. You can never trust these Unprofessional companies in the Valley. Why stay in business if you can't return a call?

Mark did a fantastic job designing our front and back yard overhauls! The guys showed up on time or even early everyday, did a beautiful job, and did plenty of follow up to be sure irrigation was right.etc. Fantastic experience! Very professional!

These people leave a mess and don't finish there work. They promise one thing then do the opposite. Very upsetting. Leave a mess outside the whole weekend. Very unprofessional, would don't recommend them.

CYC Landscaping is a professional organization that lives by the motto, "Do what you say you will". Our designer, Michael Larchick was very professional and walked us through the design process. He was not only patient, but provided suggestions for the best design for our backyard. CYC uses top quality products and materials in our installation and met our expectations and timeline. We were so pleased with the results with the backyard, we also contracted CYC to design/install our front yard as well! Thanks CYC!

I have worked with CYC Landscaping on projects at 2 different houses I have owned. They have been extremely responsive to all of my needs. They have showed up when they said to all of our appointments, given great ideas and even supplied me with a detailed drawing showing exactly what they were going to do in my yard. Most importantly, when it came time to do the project I had a detailed timeline of when the project would be completed and they met it every time. As with any project, there can be hiccups, but CYC always remedied those issues quickly and made my yard look amazing. I cannot recommend them enough.

My 1st red flag was when Mike told me he doesn't work weekends. I envisioned all kinds of difficulties getting ahold of him if something was wrong because I work during the week. But, a set up an estimate anyways. He was literally at my house for a total of 10 minutes. Apparently my job was too small to be worth his time. he didn't even offer to work with my budget.

He told me I am stuck with what I have. Very unprofessional, dare I say pompous and bordering on rude. My brother got a quote from him for his yard and said Mike was extremely impressive (my bro had a big job), but extremely expensive, so they didn't use him.

Mike Larchick quoted us on a series of trellises to be placed behind the accent wall of our pool. After quoting us, ordering all materials, and scheduling the project, he visited the property and determined we couldn't place the trellises where we wanted them to because of the condition of the soil, which CYC didn't investigate until way too late in the game.

We had a disagreement about who should bear the cost of the mistake (i.e., getting more expensive trellis work done), and CYC refused to accept any responsibility. Ultimately, we were forced to repurpose the trellises and the vines to a part of our backyard where the sunlight hits and the plants died after the first summer, conveniently after the warranty expired.

After all that, I probably would've decided not to write this review if Mike hadn't been so rude and unprofessional during the course of our communications about our disagreement. He actually told us that my wife and I were trying to "get something for free" - on a ~$35K residential landscaping project, mind you - and said he was "done arguing with [us] about this." Happy to share the emails with anyone who cares to read them.

Even if he thought he was right, he had no right to speak to us like that in a business setting. If I ever talked to a client like how he talked to my wife and me, I'd be out of business by the end of the week. If CYC was an exceptional landscaping company, I'd probably let it go, but given the number of dead plants and warranty claims we've had to make, it's not worth dealing with the unprofessionalism from Mike. There are plenty of mediocre landscapers in the Valley that are courteous and friendly, which I didn't think was too much to ask.

CYC Landscaping did a fantastic job on our backyard remodel! Mike Grosstick was there to answer our questions, ease our concerns, and ensure that we stayed happy throughout the entire project, from planning, work, and the final walkthrough. We are very happy with how our backyard project turned out. They even came back 6 months after the job to repair a leaky drip line, and to make some minor adjustments to the turf in areas that had become uneven due to some settling of the ground underneath at no additional cost to us. We are happy to recommend CYC Landscaping for your next landscaping or remodel project.

CYC and Mike G. designed and completed the backyard of our newly built home. From the very first meeting, we were impressed by the professionalism and quality of the company. The plants were large and our garden was beautiful and inviting from day 1. We have called the company after installation with questions. They have always responded quickly to our concerns. I relocated from Ohio to the Phoenix area and was clueless about the irrigating system and how much water these heat-tolerant plants, grasses, trees, and shrubs need. I was even more clueless about the irrigation systems and the different types of drip heads. The first step was to make sure that the irrigation system was working to I called CYC Landscaping.

They sent out what I believe was their best technical, Matt. Matt arrived on time and went right to work. He kept me informed on everything that he did and he educated me on my system and what I needed to do going forward to ensure that I took good care of all of the plants in my yard. He showed me how to troubleshoot my system and explained why I was probably having the few problems that I knew I was having. Matt also directed me to CYC's website so that I could educate familiarize myself with the watering guideline for my landscaping. Matt gets my vote for the CYC employee of the month for the month of Sept 2020. Thank you CYC Landscaping for sending me your best technician.

A landscape drainage contractor was very difficult for me to locate after After many fruitless attempts. CYC Landscaping was the solution. All their work was performed professionally - from the simple CAD drawing, contract, completion of work through their self-initiated follow-up visit. The work crew was very accommodating and worked smoothly and effectively as a team. Though, I will need to wait for some heavy monsoon rains to come to observe further drainage solution results. I think the performance will be as outstanding as the work performed to date. Five

Mark, Chris and the CYC team are truly amazing! They really listened to our goal and vision to help us integrate fluidity of space into a detailed, wide-ranging plan, in the surround, of our new home. From every perspective, the team created valued function and beauty throughout the property. The proposed project had many challenges that were all. met with calm, articulated execution.

The CYC team provided/delivered comprehensive communication via meetings, emails/texts and prompt return phone calls for review, regarded feedback, and CYC recommendations which makes all the difference. Mike and the team at CYC did an incredible job from start to finish. They worked with us throughout the entire design process including multiple revisions. Once we had it finalized, the crews were on time, . professional and courteous. I can't imagine any other company could have been as great to work with as these guys, beyond impressed with the final outcome.

I recommend CYC. Mike Larchick helped me put in a basketball court and did some travertine work for me as well. Like any large job there can be small hiccups but Mike always followed through and made sure the job was to my satisfaction. At the end of the day you need a guy you can trust and I would definitely trust Mike on all my jobs going forward

CYC did an amazing job on our front yard refresh. Great customer service and outstanding workmanship. Based on our experience with our first project, had Chris and his team do a refresh to the back yard. Highly recommend CYC for your landscape project needs!

I had the opportunity to work with cyc on a few project. They are professionals and they care about their craft and of course customer service is excellent. Highly recommended!

I had CYC do an install and then added on yard service. I was promised that the landscaping service were like gardeners. They would care for the plants, set the landscape timers, and nurture them. What a joke that turned out to be! We constantly had different crews, I complained to the crews about the condition of the plants, that fact that my water bill doubled, that it seemed they were over-watering, they even agreed that that it was too wet, so they could not cut my grass several times.

I complained to the office multiple times, and all feel on deaf ears. I was promised call backs and never received them I was told they would replace the 6 dead hopseed plants that the crew hacked which caused them to die. That has not happened wither, the crew says one thing and office says another and they NEVER return a call that has been promised to be returned!

I paid a lot of money, over $7,000, for them to install landscaping and then added their maintenance to insure that those plants were cared for! Here we are another week later and no call. I would not recommend them at all! Extremely disappointed with their broken promises. Reid told me he would come out and look at the plants, they did not happen either. They will just tell you what you want to hear to sell you the job. No integrity at all!

As I former employee, the negative reviews are warranted. New management doesn't operate professionally. Unfortunately this company operates with fake integrity, you will understand after you've become aware of issues and the lack of compassion to address them. Cyc will charge you beyond top dollar, cause issues, use illegal immigrants and with no regards to customer satisfaction.

If you don't believe me then ask previous customers. I guarantee that almost all customers had issues that they disapproved the corrective action taken if addressed at all. Doing service calls I've seen this first hand. Reid is in charge of crews (new to this position with no respect for employees or customers), Mandy is in office (owners relative who can be beyond rude to customers and employees for problems owner creates) and Chris is the owner (don't fall for his PHONY compassion about his company).

I would take any positive review with a grain of salt- either under previous superintendent or were compensated for the issues (but was it really worth the time and frustration). Use at your own risk!

I came home fro work to find that these landscapers had services our yard, charged us, and didn't even trim the bushes. Not the first time we have had problems with them. Laziness and obviously they don't care about their customers. I don't have time to babysit these people any longer. Called the manager and he didn't even apologize. He was too busy "at the races" with his kids.

Mike came out to offer advice for new sod. He spent his time explaining what i needed to do to make my existing lawn healthy, myself. he told me i didn't need his services. it doesn't get better than dealing with an honest business.

I had CYC out to install new synthetic turf in my entire yard. Let me tell you what, this stuff is awesome. They use the best material around, i mean it even looks like it has thatch. Do yourself a favor and get your weekends back. You won't regret it.

Mike was very responsive and was the 1st person to come out and give us a quote. He took measurements when he came which was helpful but we were also looking for specific ideas and suggestions to make it look nice (we had a general idea but were open to suggestions from a pro) which we didn't get much of. We did receive a basic quote for paver work the same day.

It wasn't as detailed as the company we ended up going with. Sometimes I think more is better to help the customer visualize when providing a quote. Needless to say we didn't end up using them primarily because we ended up getting a quote from one of their competitors that was about 3k less Overall they seem to be a good and responsive company but it all came down to pricing for us

Cannot honestly give more than 1 star as it's been about a month and I haven't received a quote yet. They answered my call quickly, came out and saw the property, and I thought they'd be amazing. We were going back and forth if we were staying or moving but needed work either way and I loved their ideas and the potential we had with our property.

Mark seemed excited and said they could get out right away and get started, etc. but then no quote. We are staying in our home, so the job is now a huge one. In the interim, another company saw CYC's truck here a month ago and one day stopped in to leave their card - guess what? They started working. I had high hopes for CYC though and it's a shame I won't get to work with them - I tried!

CYC Landscaping just finished up my backyard remodel and I am 100% pleased with the process start to finish and the results. Mark really listened to all my ideas and added some great suggestions that he put into a plan for my yard. We then met and altered as necessary to meet my budget. Speaking of budget, they do have special no interest financing available.

We were all set to go but due to a death in the family, I needed to reschedule on kind of short notice, but Mandie in the office was happy to do so. The work crew was awesome and even suggested a couple changes based on their many years of experience. My yard is now perfect. No longer the mud pit caused by overuse of my two large dogs.

We used CYC for a patio remodel. Fire Line, fire pit, bbq island. The project started just after Thanksgiving and was supposed to be completed before Christmas. That didn't happen due to errors from their supplier. But the project was completed during January, without our presence. They sent us videos and pictures. After returning we had to work out a few final things but service and communication was great. Our patio is absolutely fantastic and our guests are stunned by it! Highly recommended!

I am disappointed with their lack of basic courtesy. Mike called me with the date and time for our back yard quote. I waited all day and no one came or called. I wasted whole Thursday waiting. I called them on Friday and they were like, well Mike is on vacation so someone got it wrong with your schedule. How can Mike who's on vacation call me on Tuesday to make appointment with me for Thursday.

I know things happen and sometimes you can't make the appointment but I believe it's common courtesy to let that waiting person know so they can still go about their day.

CYC did a great job of converting our "dirt" into a living space that we can use year round. Mike worked with us to develop a plan for the yard and developed an estimate for completion. He had some great ideas. (We are new to the desert.) The end product is just what we wanted it to be. The installation crew was really good and was well supported by the office staff.

There was a question about some elevation changes on the pavers and Carlos (the expert) came up with an innovative solution that looks great. They cleaned up each day at the end of the work. I would highly recommend CYC and will use them in the future.

We had CYC landscape our backyard four years ago and not a rainstorm goes by that I don't think to myself, "wow those guys did an awesome job". They did such a superb job preparing our yard before laying artificial grass and pavers that we never have any flooding. The rain drains almost immediately. The last big storm we had in Phoenix a month ago (where there was flooding everywhere!) we did have an ankle deep pool in the turf area, but it had drained in about an hour after the rain had stopped.

We also use CYC's sister company, Complete Yard Care to do bi-monthly maintenance on our yard and they do an excellent job, even fixing things or cleaning up messes without being asked. They're always professional, and we get a polite knock at the door before each service to make sure we don't have anything special we need done. Our backyard is beautiful as well, and when we move to our new house I will definitely miss my little oasis, which is why we'll be having CYC Landscaping do the work we're planning at the new house!
