Westco Roofing

I wouldn't consider getting a new roof a 'fun' project, but I was really impressed with the work of Westco Roofing especially the Project Manager Kevin & head crew member Leo. We have a steep roof on a hill that doesn't make for an easy job, but the crew worked efficiently and consistently cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis.

We had just gotten our driveway re-done and they took extra care to lay down tarps under their vehicle to protect the new pavers, and lay plastic sheets down where materials would be falling around the property. The roof was really old and had some leaks in the garage which I knew would be problematic, but Kevin took the time to explain the issues and we were able to have Leo fix what needed to be fixed without needing to bring a carpenter in.

A lot of this was outside of their scope but it honestly looks better than when we bought the house. Overall the price was fair compared to other quotes we had gotten, and the quality is excellent. Do not hesitate to hire these guys.

They did a great job. we had an emergency to get the roof replaced or our insurance would be cancelled, they found us a earlier start date, we had something already scheduled but it was too close to date, they came and finished job in 6 days, including some repairs to roof that were not visible until roof was removed. I had used them on our house in SF before but this was extraordinary effort. and the roof looks great.

Ten years ago, Westco re-roofed our house, supposedly with a 30-year warranty. We need them to inspect the roof for leakage, but they refuse to return phone calls or emails. When messages are left with "Don, " there are promises to follow up. This never happens.

Westco recently completed re-roofing my house and I was very impressed with the company. Tim was very friendly, thorough, and professional with the initial inspection and consultation. When they were ready to start on my project, it took a total of 3 days from start to finish. The team lead by Cayden Cho and Jose arrived exactly on time every day, worked hard even in the record heatwave, and had the site cleaned up at the end of the day. I felt they were efficient and honest and so far I'm very happy with the results.

I'm really happy with Westco Roofing. The whole team was very responsive from the initial estimate, getting our roofing job done, and post-project follow up. Their work crew was hard-working, organized and efficient, and the pricing was fair. We will definitely contact Westco Roofing for any roof work we need to do in the future.

I am very happy with this company. Although they made a big boo boo when they replaced the special vent for the on-demand water heater, they made good really quickly with no argument. They also just came out to our house very quickly to investigate a leak we had mentioned when we hired them to do our new roof. As it turns out, the leak was not a roof issue, but a siding issue, but they fixed it quickly anyway -- for free! I would definitely use them again -- if I hadn't bought a 20yr roof!

About a year ago, Westco came out to to do a variety of repairs and patching on the roof, plus a deck surface, of my clients' 3 unit building. They also sealed windows due to leaking. They did a great job and made sure to squeeze the project in before they closed for the holidays. And recently, when the gutters were being cleaned, that vendor mentioned a few very minor issues, so I contacted Westco to see if the issues would be under warranty.

They were extremely responsive. I emailed the office and Cayden called me shortly afterwards. They were able to send a team out to take care of the completely covered work the next day. As a Personal Concierge I deal with a huge variety of vendors and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Westco put a new roof on our house 20 years ago, and last month they repaired it, patching areas where shingles were missing, re-sealing areas, creating and installing a chimney cap/screen, and sealing a crack. They were professional, quick, did excellent work, and protected our garden during the repair job. Excellent cleanup as well. A special rave for Project Manager Cayden Cho and team boss Jose Ortiz. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

We just had our complicated roof in Piedmont replaced by Westco, as well as several gutters and drain pipes. Westco is a well run and well organized company. The contract was very detailed and precise. The crew was very professional. The job site was kept clean and the work done quickly with a large crew and minimum disruption. The estimate was very detailed and the price was competitive. The project Manager was Kevin. The crew leader was very skilled and knowledgeable. We are very pleased with the result and highly recommend the company.

Westco came out and gave me a quote to seal around chimneys and skylights, a general sealing of the roof (gravel and tar), and repairing a leak. Their quote was definitely reasonable but they were booked pretty far out since it was winter time. Since my job was smaller, they were able to fit me in last minute a few weeks later when time permitted.

My roof is not leaking and they seem to have done a good job. I had quite a few roofers come out for estimates and I really felt most confident in Westco even though they were not the cheapest - nor the most expensive.

We can't say enough good things about Westco, from Miles who did the initial estimate to Carlos and his crew who did a thoroughly professional job. We have a complicated roof with a very steep pitch, varying levels and dormers. Two other companies told us they simply did not have workers with the skill to do it and both recommended Westco. The third company gave a bid more than twice Westco's. Furthermore, an architect friend had used them for his own roof and highly recommended them.

The roof is beautiful and neighbors stop to compliment it. The crew were polite and considerate and meticulously cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. They even drew our attention to the nest of a yellow bellied sapsucker who was feeding her chicks- something we never would have noticed. We've had two hard rains since the roof was installed and the attic is perfectly dry.

Over a month has passed since Westco inspected our roof. Despite numerous calls and emails, they never provided an estimate. Do not use Westco if you assume they will be responsive and professional.

Kevin Lee was efficient, professional, and took the time to educate me on the basics of roof repair and maintenance to reduce my reliance on professional roofing services in the future. Really a wonderful, liberating experience.

Westco replaced my roof in 2018. There were safety and quality days at the start of the job. I found a 3 razor blade used for demolition a few feet from my toddler's tricycle in our courtyard after the crew left site on day 1. On day 2, it was obvious that they were rushing and completely missed the studs when nailing down new plywood sheathing.

I had to call the Project Manager out to the job site to point out the atrocious workmanship. It was frustrating that they didn't exercise their own quality control. Westco made a few design decisions without consulting me, only for me to ask at mid-points int he job to be told why they made a decisions. I expressed my disappointment at the lack of proactive communication.

Fast forward to the first rains of the year, and the new dutch gutters they installed leave standing water (i.e., they don't slope downward enough to drain). When I called the Project Manager out to the site to take a look all I got was an excuse explaining why the non functional design was installed. I've previously worked for a prestigious Bay Area-based construction company, and channel that experience when setting expectations for any contractor who works on my family's home. Overall, Westco's communication, quality, and safety were well below what I think is reasonable.

If you have children, please don't hire Westco. After calling out their abhorrent policing of the site I was assured that the crew would do a better job cleaning at the end of each day. I probably found a hundred nails from the demolition that Westco didn't clean up. I think the company has a culture of profits over safety and quality. In retrospect I wish I'd have worked with another company.

Exactly four weeks ago today, a very nice man, Brian Harris, sent by Westco came to my home to assess the rain damage to the back roof. He measured it and was supposed to send us estimates for the installing of a tarp as a temporary measure and the cost of a brand new roof upon completion of a rebuilt back room. Two weeks out, I had not received anything from Westco.

I e-mailed them and received a response indicating that the estimate would be sent by Mr. Harris, not by the main office, and that they would forward my e-mail to him. Since that time, I have received absolutely nothing. I think that four weeks is way too long for delivery of two pretty standard estimates. I will be looking for another roofing company and not recommend Westco.

The best out there, true professionals. Fixed the poor job that was done on our complicated roof. Came back super quickly to revise an issue years later. If you have a problem, especially on a strange roof situation, these are your people.

I called multiple times to get an estimate for someone to come out and give a quote for my leaking roof. I have since gotten my roof fixed and still have not received a call back from them. Very unprofessional.

We had Westco replace the roof on our home in 2005. They did a great job. This past month, when the heavy rains hit, we noticed that the flat part of our roof had water collecting and dripping through the overhang onto our porch. I called Westco and Mike Lee responded within the day and was out at hour home the next day. He evaluated our roof and sent out a crew within the week to create a new drain hole to prevent standing water.

They did not charge us a single penny for this service. I was so impressed that I'm having the company do an estimate for new gutters at another house. Thank you Westco for excellent work and fabulous customer service. Nice to know both still exist!

WestCo Roofing damaged my property when their dump truck drove into a brick planter in front of my house and they got black tire marks all over the sidewalk. No problem - as long as they make it right in some way. But they don't. Carlos Cano, the project manager fails to do the things he said he was going to do. Nelsa in the office is pleasant but more interested in saying why they can't do things then actually trying to get them done.

Still trying to get a hold of Mike Lee (the owner?) but Nelsa won't put me through. Nelsa said to put it in writing so here it is - please fix the damage you caused _when_ you said you would and if you can't then reimburse me for paying someone who can do it. If you want unreliable people who damage your property then WestCo Roofing is the company for you!

They don't really even deserve that much. This company completely sucks! They didn't call me with a rain cancellation so I had no idea they weren't coming. I even took the day off work! When I was contacted by the guy who was supposed to come for the consultation, he rescheduled for me. Fine. But the day of, he didn't show and when I called wondering where he was, he sounded like he had no idea what I was talking about. Are these people complete morons or just don't know how to do simple tasks like enter an appointment into a phone? Awful experience.

I was in a pinch. It was raining inside my bedroom with no end in sight. The weather reports called for days and days of more rain. Every roofer I called was booked out or couldn't help me. Fortunately, Westco roofing came to my rescue! They were here the next day and fixed my leaky skylight. I'm so thankful! They saved the day

I really should wait until the rain before I comment on the job. The estimate by Andrew went really well but unfortunately you don't work with him once you decide to do business. The bid was competitive but I was also sold on my interaction with him. Once I paid a percentage toward the job I was scheduled for work and told that Carlos would be the lead on the project. Carlos showed up with his team and seemed like a nice guy.but I never saw him after that first day.

The job continued for another day and a half. Some guy -- who barely spoke English -- knocked on my front door to tell me they were done. The job was close to $7k so I would have appreciated a more gracious ending. The next day I was trying to survey the three areas they worked on. Since it's roofing and I can't get on the roof, I'm limited in my ability to assess.

One area included covering the rain gutters. I saw some screening haphazardly placed over some of the gutters. There were gaps in the covering and it looked like a wind could blow the screen off the gutter. I also wasn't able to tell if they did any work on a turret where we suspect a leak is coming from. Turns out the job was NOT finished and had I not called they never would have checked. They came out the next day and spent a few hours adhering the screens to the gutters. So. I'm hoping all is well once the rain comes.
