They provided me an estimate - was the price i wanted to to pay so we did not use them

Called this guy to do some drywall repairs on my rental unit in Hyattsville. Spoke to him the day before and made the sched. Spoke with him again the same morning to verify. I wasted my time and gas as he was a no show.he didn't answer his phone or contact me. I'd give him zero stars if possible. People like him give good contactors a bad name.

This guy is totally unreliable and a liar. I have an elderly tenant in a rental property where I need work done. I scheduled with John for a specific time and date, and he never showed. When I called him that afternoon to ask why he didn't show, he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. We rescheduled for the next day at 10am. I even called him the following morning at 9:15am to confirm he would be there to meet the tenant, and he said he would be.

Didn't show again. Made this woman wait all day. I have called him 5-10 times since they, and now he doesn't answer his phone. This is the kind of guy who gives contractors a bad reputation.

I communicated with John on 4/25 about coming to my home to fix a few items for a move-out. Per the email, he was cooperative and polite. He gave me a price quote not including the parts, which I thought was fair. Now here comes the issue. On the day John was actually supposed to show up, he stopped answering his phone. He began to send me to voicemail.

So I call him from my work phone and wouldn't you know John answers! He was clearly taken aback that I was able to reach him. First he said he was running late from another job and then he said his work truck broke down. Then he said he was on the way but then he didn't know he needed to buy the parts (which makes no sense because he told me he would purchase them and I pay him for them).

Then John stopped answering his phone again. I try to support local businesses (and will continue to do so) but M and M cannot be one of them because John seems to only work when he feels like it - even if it means losing out on money. If you're on a time crunch, beware!

John Brinking was supposed to meet our tenants to prepare an estimate for a few repairs. He never showed up nor do he respond to any of my attempts to reschedule. Very unprofessional!

Fantastic! Wish we had found him 20 years ago! Reasonable and knowledgeable. We had a long list of repairs to prepare our house for inspection as we are selling. He completed everything from installing railings, welding leaking pip, cutting cinder blocks, caulking window leaks on the second floor outside, grounding electrical wires, brick repair and so much more.

He was half what another company would have charged and arrived in 2 hours from the time we called him. He was suppose to come back a couple days later (no set time just wed or thurs) and finish the job however he did not show. We called and texted but received no response. We called from a different phone number and he answered. He said he was swamped with a job and he did show up an hour after our conversation later to complete the job. I think he just gets overwhelmed with wanting to help people and may over schedule.

Quickly responded to call however there is still evidence of the plumbing issue present to which he has not rectified. The other job completed on the same day was satisfactory. It's important when you hire this company that you know he does 'everything except cars' which makes him a limited expert in all other areas. Beware

Guys please do not go to this guy for service. He was supposed replace my thermostat at my rental property. He called me and told me he got the job done and requested $125. I made the payment right away out of respect. An hour later my tenant called me and told me that he did not replace the thermostat, instead he just opened the cap and told them how to manually alter the heat.

And called it a "fix". I sent another handyman and he replaced the thermostat with a brand new one AND also fixed the ceiling fan on top of that and still cost me less than that. All John tried to do was to fool me with an explanation in some technical complicated way thinking I do not know anything about this stuff. Please avoid him. You will regret it if you don't. ALSO - he talked to the handyman who replaced the thermostat, and requested I show him the invoice, and still have not refunded the money.

He also abused my tenant 7am in the morning to go back in the house and "unfix" in other words break the thermostat and only then he would refund me. A total ridiculous, disaster experience.

Great work Got here early, on a Saturday. Efficient, quick, automatically understood the job, got it done no questions asked, done in 2 and a half hours when i was ready for four. Definitely recommend. Great price.

I really like John. He's very knowledgable and was even proactive with some of the things that needed fixing (example: he was to fix a small part of our toliet and he just replaced the valve). Things I've been meaning to fix for eight years, John fixed in 5 minutes, and had materials in his truck to fix things I didn't anticipate. Also, he was really, reasonably priced. Was committed to getting the jobs done right but quickly (he rushed around my house from job to job). However, I read the reviews in depth after he was to come back to my house to repair some things outside.

I had already paid him for this work as I wasn't going to be home at the time he was to make the repairs. He didn't come the day he said and didn't call, but I called and he picked up and said he was trying to come over soon. He said he would come on Thursday, ended up coming Saturday morning, which wasn't a big deal to me because I didn't need to be home when he came over. He did the work perfectly, quickly, cheaply. I can't give him 5 stars but I would call him again despite not coming when he said he would and calling.

If I could give 0 reviews I would, he embezzled $85 from us, promising us a gutter repair the next week (ONE NAIL TO BE SCREWED IN) to be completed THREE weeks ago. He's been dodging our calls & ever since and it's been TORRENTIAL pouring, with my boyfriend making a makeshift gutter holder in the meantime. Should have looked him up on yelp before calling.

Now considering going to small claims court out of the mere principle of being swindled and lied to. Honestly wish we had called the police when he was semi-bullying us for money. DO NOT USE!

I wish I read the reviews before making an appointment. Don't waste your time with this business, they didn't even show up. I called on a Friday, was able to get a Monday appointment. I don't live at the property so I had made a special trip. After waiting 20 minutes, with no phone calls to tell me they were running late or couldn't make it, I called the main number and was told that they would call me back once they figured out which technician was assigned to me.

I never received a phone call back, and nobody ever showed up. I continued to call the main number to at least reschedule, I understand things come up - but they stopped answering their phone. Very strange, and not to mention, rude. If they didn't want my business, or weren't available to help, why make the appointment?! Such a waste of time.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. contacted this business before reading the terrible reviews. he contacted me the next day; decided to chance it since he called back & said he could handle the job - my mistake. we set up an appointment; I sent him a text to confirm and spoke to him an hour before. John said he would come at the appointed time, but did not show up, did not call, did not answer his phone. This was consistent with several other bad reviews and evidently is the way he does his work. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

I called to set up an estimate, set up an appointment time (that same day), and the appointment time came and went with nobody showing up and nobody calling to say they were late, etc. I called and texted multiple times and got no response. Completely unacceptable.

Excellent customer service. He arrived at my house 30 mins early. He was very professional - quick n very thorough. Even did extra work that wasn't discussed early on. I would highly recommend M&M. I will be calling him back to do some ply work. Thanks M&M for the awesome service. If you want a seasoned handy man M&M is the way to go.

They didn't show. I called when they were 30 minutes late and told that someone should be there soon. Called again at an hour and got an answering machine. We're at an hour and fifteen past my appointment and I have to leave. It's unclear to me how they plan to generate income but it appears they have a laissez faire attitude when it comes to customer service (or even providing handyman services in exchange for currency). It's my fault for ignoring the other reviews that said they didn't show up. Hopefully you don't make the same mistake.

We urgently need some handyman work done in our apartment, including help setting up a nursery for a baby. John came round the first time, no problems, and did a decent enough job. We booked him for the second time, and he replied saying he was coming. He knew the work was important. He didn't show up. I texted him after half an hour, one hour, two hours.

No reply. I called him several times. He ignored me. I even texted him the next day and he ignored that too. Appalling customer service and an unreliable handyman. Do not use. This is obviously a common problem with this handyman service. Avoid it and go elsewhere.

Why didn't I check Yelp first? Same experience as so many others. It was easy to get an appointment to have my garbage disposal replaced. The gentlemen even had me text him a picture of the current unit so he could pick one up on his way. I'm posting this review 2.5 hours after our appointment time - no show, no call. I called the company, but am unable to reach anyone. Cross this one off your list so you don't waste your time!

I didn't think it would actually come to this, but it did. I had used M&M several times and so didn't pay much attention to the other reviews complaining that he doesn't show up. But recently we needed a handyman to fix a couple things around the house, and although we scheduled an appointment with him he did not show up. We called him a couple of times and left a text message, but he never got back to us. Very unprofessional and a great disappointment.
