Ruby Electric

A 220 receptacle shorted out and tripped half of my house including my central AC during this intense heatwave. I couldn't get it to come back on. I called 3 different electricians in Springfield as the temperature and humidity in my house was climbing. Ruby Electric was the only one to give me the time of day. Dan was a great technician, arrived within an hour of calling and had me back up and running in another hour. Thanks Ruby Electric.

Their estimator came out 09/2021, did an inspection, and despite several calls over months, did not get me any sort of estimate until 4 months had passed. The estimate was for $12,000 +/-. I went with another local company hat bid $2800 for the same job, and did good work. I was actually stunned, because over the years, my Dad had used Ruby with great result, general contractors I know and friends had, as well, and I had used them several years ago, and they were great. Not sure what's going on at that company, but quite a disappointment.

Of course my electricity started giving me trouble on the coldest day ever, but Ruby sent someone out and they dug through the frozen solid ground to repair an underground wire and have us up and running before the house got too cold. They are an excellent company to work with and I will recommend them to anyone who wants the job done right.

I had to have the weather head replaced on my house. Ruby installed the original one in 2005. This service was completed in 2 days. This is my 5th time using this company. They always do a professional job and the job completed expertly.

I get that they are busy but the attitude and lack of communication was a big issue. I repeatedly was told they may be available a particular week but couldn't get a set date. I have a job that could send me to Chicago and requires me to be available for various meetings that we schedule weeks in advance, I need a schedule to work with. Everytime I spoke with them the seemed irritated I would even ask.

I know $3,000 isn't a lot to them but it is to me. When I get charged more just to be told some things can't be done after the initial walkthrough and find out that portions of my bid were not communicated to the electrician assigned to me so he thinks I'm pulling something, is very irritating. Further, outlets were not installed flush with the wall and it just looks bad.

The chime they used for my doorbell is awful and I switched over to using my security system chime instead. This company needs to save everyone some trouble and stop doing residential and just focus on commercial. If you are looking for an electrician, Ryan Electric is much better at giving you a date to plan around and they do a good job of communicating all aspects of the job and costs. Lastly they were just nice to talk to and didn't make you feel like you were wasting their time.

I have used RUBY ELECTRIC for commercial electrical work at several office locations, a generator for our data center, and much more. They are a top notch electrical firm, with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality job well done!

Ruby Electric was called to do extensive outside lighting work for maintenance and repair stuff and we were very happy with the work done! Dan came out and was very personable and did a great job! He had alot of experience and had to manage maneuvering high places and did great!

Won't let me give zero stars. Very unhappy with company. Called and made an appointment, took off work to be home, came half hour before scheduled appointment time, waited 30 minutes, no call, no show, its now a full 24 hrs after my 'appointment ', still haven't heard from them! Guess my "little job" wasn't important enough! Won't call again or recommend.
