Overpriced slow work, hired a completely reliable affordable replacement to clean up their mess (Drain not replaced, drainpipe moved causing leak). Owner wouldn't even acknowledge that I was overcharged by 3 hours. A half hour even 1 hour if the work was done correct I wouldn't mind. Worker Gene showed up twice with the incorrect tools and even had to use mine. Incomplete work and condescending attitude from the owner.

Stay away. You'll notice the owner Kevin continue to refer to himself as a 'designer' stay in your lane and just do quality carpentry. That's all anyone wants.

I decided at the last minute that I wanted some furniture refinished. They were quick to respond, i had someone the next day a nd the workman, Gene, did a terrific job. He worked very cleanly and efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use them again.

I saw a flyer that was placed on the mailbox of my salon. I receive a lot of this kind of advertisement but this is the first time that i have ever contacted someone in this manner. I am so happy that i did. I have a small room in my salon that i needed some shelves installed and contacted Kevin to see if its a job he would do. I wasn't sure because it was a small job and sometimes businesses are really wanting larger more financially beneficial projects. in LESS than one week i had beautiful shelves installed.

I took the measurements and photos, sent them via email and paid 50% deposit (all on the first day) to get the job started. It was very easy! Kevin contacted me about an hour later and said everything would be completed in a week. i was surprised at the short turn around time and a bit skeptical but it was definitely done in a week or less. The shelves are perfect and the person who installed them was very professional, neat and fast. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great, reliable and efficient carpenter

My husband and I contacted Kevin Racine, owner of Space Carpenter, based on a friend's recommendation. We needed a cabinet built in our living room that would match perfectly with an existing wall, would not be a noticeable addition to the room, but would provide extra storage space. We were pleased from the beginning to the end of the project with the quality of workmanship, and professionalism of all involved Kevin met with us to lay out the project and then employed a carpenter and painter to build, install and finish the project.

He chose within a network of top level craftsman two professionals who did a perfect job. Kevin oversaw the project as it was ongoing. He reviewed and made necessary minor adjustments in a prompt and satisfactory manner before final payment. We can only give the highest praise to Kevin, Michael and Gary for the excellent result.

The best! Kevin Rocine Knows what he's doing and how to work with management of a strict NYC building. I had a small job and that was fine. 10 days after I met kevin, a foreman Gene came to do impeccable work. He was respectful, cordial, quiet and extreme skilled. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat.

I highly recommend Kevin and his company Space Carpenter. Our condo had a nook in a wall that he transformed into a kitchen pantry. The work was done off-site and installed professionally and quickly. From initial contact with Kevin to finished product, our project was completed in well under a month. The cabinet and doors were custom fit and hung perfectly, which in a 100 + year old building is remarkable.

He also created a smaller cabinet to hide an eyesore gas meter which hung from the ceiling. Kevin is a skilled carpenter and problem-solver. I will be using this company again shortly to install large wood shutters at the street side of our home. I look forward to working with Kevin again.

Even though this was a small job - 8 shelves in a closet - Kevin came personally to do the design. He cut and painted the shelves off site to minimize disruption in the home then installed them. Of course our walls are not flush so he spent time recutting to get a good fit. The closet now looks fabulous and the space is used well. I can recommend Kevin.

Kevin and his team did a fantastic job designing and installing a staircase with built in storage for my loft. Kevin followed my specifications and custom built the storage so it would fit everything I needed into it. He responded promptly to all my emails and gave me the best price - and I had been comparing prices everywhere. The stair case looks great with beautiful maple stairs and a nice hand railing. Even after the installation was complete Kevin came back a few days later to add an extra support we wanted. He is very accommodating.

Kevin and team are outstanding professionals. Their work is impeccable and looks outstanding. And they stand by their work. We had a minor issue that popped up 3 plus months after the work was completed and Kevin and team came back to repair without question. Kevin is a wonderful, professional and reliable contractor.

A built-in cabinet and radiator cover in our bedroom had begun to sag in the middle so that the doors didn't align or close fully. Kevin's company, Space Carpenter LLC, did a thoroughly professional and meticulous job of repairing the problems. Ken came in to review the situation and proposed a solution which sounded very reasonable. He came back and did the work carefully and skillfully. (A paint job was also included.) Space Carpenter did some work for us previously -- about 2 years ago - making repairs and improvements to several cabinet drawers and doors that were out of alignment or didn't close properly.

Because we were so happy with that job, we decided to call on them again for this one. They are consummate professionals, skilled, imaginative, responsive and punctual. We would hire them again and recommend them to anyone seeking their services.

Great job altering an existing cabinet to fit a bigger refrigerator we wanted to buy. Kevin was super responsive and helpful over email getting the job set up, then the day of the job, the two guys from the company were on time, nice and very good craftsmen. I would hire them again to do any more custom work in a heartbeat.

My antique shop is in the West Village historic district and therefore the original front door dating to the 19th century could not be changed. The door had come loose from its hinges and we needed it fixed fast. Space came the next day and did a great job, reasonable cost and high quality.

I had a great experience with Kevin and Space Carpenter Co. I was short on time and made a request to build out 2 closets and install them within 5 days. Kevin came over same day, was meticulous with drawings, measurements and was very careful to explain the process in which I should expect. Kevin surpassed my expectations by installing sooner than contracted and was present through-out the entire job install. I would highly recommend Kevin and Space Carpenter to anyone who is particular and needs a honest guy to do some work. I would gladly hire Kevin again.

Kevin built a great attachment for my loft bed a few years ago when the original ladder broke. He created a ladder leading to a little ledge so I could climb up, get on the ledge, put things on this ledge. Hard to describe. One bad thing. he doesn't respond to calls post job. A beam he put underneath was wobbly, needed to be secured. He never responded to my calls. Fortunately the beam doesn't seem crucial to the integrity of this structure. BUT left a bad feeling with me re future work.

I met Kevin through a neighbor in our building to have our floors redone. Their crew came in were beyond professional. The floors looked great after it was all said and done. He advised us how to care for them as well. Despite our toddler and our dogs giving a lot of wear, they still look beautiful to this day. BUT THAT's NOT ALL! I pitched an idea for hanging cabinets to be installed.

I sent actual drawings from the original cabinet creators to him. After a brief walk through for measurements, he and his team created a beautiful set of cabinets that look EXACTLY like the others installed in our home. My wife and I love them! Having met many of the people he hires to work with him, they are all consummate professionals who love the work they do! Old school quality and pride!

Space Carpenter built a loft for my full size bed. Communication with Kevin was easy, quick, and professional. From the time measurements were taken of the space to the time it was fully installed in my apartment was a span of 2 and a half days. I am extremely happy with the work- especially for at the lowest quoted price I found in NYC- and would use Space Carpenter again without question.

Kevin and Space Carpenters were fantastic. I gave him the design I wanted for my custom, asymmetrical, built-in bookcases, he came by to take measurements, and communicated with me afterwards regarding the design. We had been searching for a carpenter to build a custom dog ramp for our terrace. After getting about 5 different quotes from local carpenters, we decided on Space Carpenter and Kevin. It went great. Kevin's price estimate was middle-of-the-pack, but his professionalism was top notch. The work was outstanding, the communication was excellent. Kevin and his crew are the best. SC has done numerous jobs for my home and business. They built a beautiful maple bookshelf with perfect lines and subtle detail, have done cabinetry work throughout my kitchen, and built a perfect outdoor bar at my and my friends' restaurant. Their work is timely and executed flawlessly. The FLOORING work that Kevin's guy, Henderson, did for me was unreal.

I have the most beautiful satin-finished maple hardwood floors in all of NYC because of him - his crew was diligent and the hardest working men I have seen in my life.
