They installed my heat pump for ductless AC and heat about 16 months ago. Had them out for general system maintenance. And they gave me a bid on attic installation which they did 5 days later. This review is about the insulation. On time.even early! Explained the procedure they would use since I have ceiling cassettes for my ductless heat pump system. They were in and out quickly. Friendly and made sure to clean up afterwards. I got to inspect attic before and after insulation.

They use a third party call service that can be a little wonky. They gave me a timeframe from 2-4, but were too busy to show up. They guaranteed to show the next day, so I gave them a second chance. Super helpful and thorough when they arrived. The actual service was great, but was a little bummed when they didn't show up after confirming (granted it was 106 degrees and the whole city had issues).

My air conditioner crapped out and I called the first company that popped up on the Google that was still open late in the afternoon. They sent out a tech within an hour. Shavon was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we understood all our options. The work will be on Saturday, looking forward to having a working AC and heating unit!

Aside from one communication error early on in the process everything was great. The representatives who I spoke to on the phone were very pleasant. Noah did a great job with our repair estimate. They were really backed up, so, like others, my original appointment kept getting moved out hours, then days, then a week. But they had a cancellation today and were able to work me in, and Noah showed up right when he said he would, discussed the problem, consulted with his colleagues, and got me the repair estimate right away. He even cheerfully tolerated my too crazy dog jumping all over him! (The dog gets only two stars for her behavior, but Noah gets five!)

We've been having intermittent problems with our 3 y.o. top-of-the-line RUUD heat pump. This time the air conditioning went out, I called on a weekend, Ryan came out first thing Monday morning, patiently researched the source of our annoying recurrent problems, even called the company, finally determined that we needed to replace our line set. Two days later installer team Jared and Gabe spent a whole day installing a new line set and new air purifier, then Jared spent the whole next day doggedly troubleshooting a surprise operating problem. Jared worked especially hard, above and beyond! Now everything is fixed, hopefully for a long time, and we are happy and satisfied customers of Sunset!

Sam was great to work with! Kept me in the loop as he was troubleshooting the issue and eventually repairing our AC. My only complaint is the lack of communication on the company's part. We had to call several times to get the repair scheduled after the problem was identified. To be fair, I will say this was over the the holiday week.

Sunset installed AC to work with our pre-existing furnace a few years ago; recently the quite old furnace needed replacing and they replaced that too keeping the existing AC which was new. My technician Matt provided outstanding support. He explained every step of the process as he diagnosed my AC problem. He explained all my options - and we discussed both positive and negative aspects of each of my choices. There was no pressure. He showed respect for me as a customer and I felt he gave me a full and comprehensive assessment of my AC situation. They installed my furnace last year and had the same experience this time around. Taylor was great to work with. I just bought my home, and he helped educate me on some things regarding my HVAC system. He is a consummate professional who takes pride in what he does, as it is evident by the service he provides. A great technician. Had my new furnace and AC installed less than 48 hrs from calling them. Tad went over the pricing and packages with me and was super knowledgeable and nice. The install team was fantastic. Clean work! Friendly and knowledgeable. The staff answering the phones are just as great. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Nathan was great! Very knowledgeable, professional, amiable & didn't try to sell me the top of the line expensive heat pump. I told him my situation & he suggested one that fit my plan & budget. I love the 10 months, zero interest or payments. The technicians will be here on Monday to install it, just in time to have it running before the heat wave.

I highly recommend this company especially Thomas Marques HVAC Service Tech. Thorough smart honest and just a really nice guy in general! He even took the time to show us through a camera our furnace issue! Unfortunately we need to replace the old with a new one! He gave us a good price! And Sunset is coming back tomorrow June 29th (2023) to install a new furnace. He also went outside and cleaned our air conditioner! I was told by someone else that we don't need to clean our air conditioner, really? Anyways Thomas is your man!

Had an appointment on prior Tuesday for arrival between 1200 & 1700. Called at 1200 to get more accurate time, requesting later in window. She said she'd have tech call me. By 1630, I'd gotten no calls & called again. She contacted tech--they weren't going to make it & had rescheduled me for Wednesday without consulting me! I said I had prior appointments & was scheduled for Thursday.

I asked why I was never called, she said they were busy & "didn't have time."(excuse making) She also said the tech "couldn't find my address." (more excuse making) I again asked why the tech didn't call or Google my address. The implication was that I'd given wrong address (blame customer). She said the tech was "too busy to Google or call". Really?

Upon confirming address, they did correct address. I told person that this, was excuse making & incredibly poor service. NOLAN was the polar opposite. On time, pleasant, apologized for prior problem, great service, very communicative with lots of great advice. Totally changed my opinion about Sunset that I'd developed on Tuesday.

Unfortunately it was the end of our HVACs life. Our HVAC was less common, a large duel unit that left limited options for a replacement. Pretty quickly we discovered replacing this particular unit would be a special case. Our experience with other companies consisted of chasing down bids where we were told to expect a quote within day or two followed by having to check back sometimes a week later and often times crickets. However, our experience working with a Sunset technician for replacing the unit was top notch.

We were given a quote very quickly along with all the details needed to make an informed decision to move forward with confidence. Dynamite service! Experience with installation crew was also wonderful. Excellent team and services! I could not recommend enough.

I needed to upgrade an outlet from a 15 amp to a 20 amp to be able to plug in my new spa. Aaron arrived promptly assessed the situation and gave me two choices as to how to proceed with the job. He was wonderful at educating me as to what the choices were, I had another company also giving me a bid for the same job and they came up twice as expensive as Sunset so I highly recommend Sunset heating and cooling. as well as Aaron Bishop he is top notch. John and Kaimana did an awesome job installing my new air conditioning and explaining the process to me. They were professional, knowledgeable, punctual and helpful. It was a long day with some extra services they needed to install with my particular existing furnace but they worked hard until the end, making sure it was all in great working order.
