After initial research, including pinpointing the specific jurisdiction requirements of the construction site, the architect can create an initial design conjecture the sketch. Our first sketches explore how the clients can best live on their site rather than what the house will look like. Once there is agreement about this embryonic stage, the project evolves with measurable floor plans, exterior elevation drawings, and a 3D model that accurately charts the progress of the various design iterations. I was looking at purchasing a house, but it was going to need some extensive renovations, including finishing out a basement. Paul was able to look at it with an expert's eye and help determine whether this was a cost-effective project. The value- added in working with Paul is his vision, and being able to see possibilities that I may not have even thought of. I was also impressed with his LEED's work in balancing projects to be as cost effective and environmentally sound as possible at the same time .

Paul is an absolute treasure!! When we started the process, my husband and I had a vague idea of what we wanted our future home to be. Paul took time to get to know our likes and dislikes. He had us describe our daily activities in the house and found out what would be of value. He took the time to listen. We found out he has 6 sisters, I think he said.
My husband and I teased him that was the best training for this profession. He has the touch of tact and is a really good listener; he doesn’t get offended if you want to change things. He was so accommodating. He would create a plan, and then we would meet to discuss what we liked and didn’t like. I do not like to make anyone feel bad or offend, but he was so great to work with and NEVER made me feel like I was changing my mind too much!!
We ended up with an amazing home, truly fitted to exactly who we are!! We get comments all the time about how gorgeous our home is. I know so many people who have nightmare experiences while planning and building a house. That was not ours at all. It was such a fun experience. Paul made creating a joy!!! We have a delightful masterpiece now!

Over the years Paul Clark has designed several houses and one garage apartment for my family. From designing our shoot the lights out dream home to helping us build a small house for rental and later a small in-law garage apartment, Paul showed such great versatility and ability to stay within budget while thinking through every last beautiful detail.
His willingness to listen and really pay attention to how WE lived and what we wanted in terms of our space and lay out was quite remarkable. We found Paul to be patient with our endless ponderings and incredibly creative in giving us something we loved but would never have thought of on our own. His commitment to building beautiful, functional, unique and friendly home environments has inspired me over the years.
He truly wanted our family life to be supported and made happier by the architectural design rather than us living around some “vision” or architectural “theory”. How refreshing!
