Edgell Building has long been known in Missoula and Western Montana as one of the premier home builders in the area. The home serves as the hub of family living and having a functional home that fits a family's lifestyle is the goal that Edgell envisions in each home his team of construction professionals builds.

We just finished a new home with Edgell's and it has been the most wonderful experience we could have ever asked for! We lived 1,400 miles away so communication was important and they were great. The quality of construction far exceeded our expectations and their attention to detail is astonishing. They kept us within our budget and timeline and were very transparent on costs of everything, no surprises! We absolutely loved the entire process from start to finish, they made it so enjoyable and we would definitely work with them again!

We had Edgell building build our first Montana home. The process was easy, building completed on time, billing was timely and accurate. David was involved, helpful and professional in every way. What a pleasure to work with a company who's focus is white glove customer service, and integrity in their dealings with customers.

There is a difference in contractors, if you want attention to detail, excellent communication and a project done on time and on budget then Edgell Building is the builder for you. We built a house in 2019 and Edgell Building went above and beyond to ensure a quality home that exceeded our expectations and made our dreams come true. Now that we have moved into our home we have come to appreciate the quality of sub-contractors that Edgell Building uses.
When we had questions or needed adjustments on things the sub-contractors and Edgell Building were both extremely responsive and called us back. In our case, after we moved in, we changed our mind on a few electrical items and hired the sub-contractors to makes some minor light switch changes and some plumbing changes for our irrigation system. It gives me peace of mind that both our general contractor and the sub-contractors back their work without hassle and are available if needed.
The quality this builder provides started from the beginning, spending time in meetings helping us make critical decisions about our house design and amenities that were within our budget, Edgell Building was there with us every step of the way. Once construction started things ran smoothly and on time. My wife and I were updated by the Edgell team during all phases of the project and our questions were always answered in a timely manner. Edgell Building, on their own, went above and beyond during the construction process to ensure quality that exceeded our expectations from start to finish.
Great project management, communication, attention to detail, and keeping the project on budget are very important to building a new home. The Edgell team knocked it out of the park and we can't say enough good things about this company and the employees. From the laborers to the Superintendent to the all the other staff, they went above and beyond to ensure a satisfied customer during construction and after you move in. Thank you Edgell Building for our beautiful home!

I have worked with Edgell Building on 2 homes in the past 8 years. In both cases, the experience was excellent. One was a higher end home, the other was a triplex. In both cases, construction was timely and the project manager on sight was professional and always will to listen. There were very few cost overruns as I believe the construction estimates at the beginning of the project were well thought out and accurate. Mr. Edgell has an excellent reputation in this town - an 'Edgell Built Home' is always considered to be of high quality. I would highly recommend Edgell Building for any type of construction project.

I had Edgell building build a home for my family. Knowing that i was on a budget they did a wonderful job helping me get what I want and keeping the cost down. The attention to detail was great. They helped us with every question we had and truly cared about our needs for the home. We couldnt be happier. 10/10 would recommend.

Buyer beware! A buyer of an Edgell Home new or used should hire an inspector to inspect their roof and crawl spaces. Prior to the summer of 2018 Edgell did not build their homes to the 2012 building codes. The City of Missoula did not correctly inspect these areas. The City of Missouls is suppose to inspect the ice and water shield under the shingles.
I live in an Edgell subdivision where they approved homes that where not built correctly. The City of Missoula required that homes with crawl spaces where to be conditioned. Without explaining it go to Google and enter conditioned crawl spaces and see what they are suppose to be built like. The City did not inspect these crawl spaces in our subdivision but they approved the homes.
During the flood of 2018 most of the homes in our subdivision had flooded crawl spaces. David Edgell determined that it was each homeowners responsibility to pay for having the moisture and humidity levels lowered to acceptable levels. Homeowners hired private inspectors to inspect their homes for damage. That is how we learned about our crawl spaces and roofs.
We learned that are roofs would not be warranted BY GAF because the ice and water shield was not installed per manufacturers Specifications. Our roof ridge vents where not fastened correctly. Edgell sent the same roofer back to correct the ridge vents. The fix was to put long screws in the vents. Did anyone inspect this afterit was done? No! Did Edgell ever look at any of the issues with their own eyes or go up on a roof? David Edgells response was we have been doing it this way for 40 years so stop complaining and be happy.
One homeowner sold their home this summer 2019 and the new buyer had it inspected. The roof vents where not installed correctly although he noted someone made an attempt to screw them down. We have had a certified GAF roofing technician inspect our home and where informed that our roof would not be warranted. I have looked at some of Edgells homes since the summer of 2018 and it appears they are at least attempting to do the ice and water shield correctly.
We also found out that are Air Conditioner equipment was manufactured in 2006 and 2008. We bought our home in 2015. How does that work? Our Ac does not work the beginning of every summer. In the past I have been able to call Edgell's contractor and they have always responded. This year I called in June and the owner of the HVAC Company said they know we have a leak but they have not been able to find it.
He said they would be out next week. When they did not show I called him and he said they would not set foot on my property and hung up the phone. Since David Edgell announced to all our homeowners that Edgell would not do any more warranty work for our subdivision at the end of last year I guess I should not have been surprised. So I had to contact another HVAC contractor.
This is how I found out this information. Edgell Building has a good reputation in Missoula and I am not sure why. David Edgell's main concern is his wallet and he does not liked to be questioned!

I have owned 3 homes built by Edgell & 1 commercial remodel completed by Edgell. Dave & Mark Edgell have excellent customer service and will make any want or need a reality. Their staff is very respectful and knowledgeable. I have been both a supplier and customer, and they are a great company all the way around. I would highly recommend Edgell Building.

This company is phenomenal. The person who referred us to them works with a lot of contractors in town, and he said, "You might pay a little more, but they are the best, they stand behind their work, and they will come in on budget." Having worked with less reputable contractors in the past - and having had to live with those results - we hired Edgell and never looked back.
They made our home renovation painless. Seriously. (Who says that?) Their attention to detail and quality was fantastic. They have integrity. When I came in the weekend before we were going to move in, and there was a cleaning crew meticulously dusting our new home, I about passed out with joy. We will not work with anyone else!
