Zack and the expert HVAC team at Camino Air recently added dual AC units to the forced air heating system they installed when we first built our Solana Beach home in 2011. I was thrilled to see Zack return 11 years later to install the AC units. All of the work and Carrier systems Zack and crew installed shows the highest attention to quality and care to seamlessly fit the systems into limited spaces. The craftsmanship on both systems is so good it's the first thing I show everybody when they first come to our house!

Yerevan, Camino AC President, personally returned my call and came to my home for an assessment. He was direct and to the point. He took the time to draw up a few thorough estimates rather than just writing down a number on the spot. We did not choose Camino for the install, but I sincerely appreciated the professionalism. My neighbor was the one that referred me and had only good things to say.

One of the main reasons I selected Camino Air over other companies was that I wanted to support a local family owned business. This company is based right in my own backyard in Poway and Yerevan, the owner lives 5 minutes away from me. Another reason I selected them was I always and only wanted to use Carrier products and they are authorized experts.
I had a new furnace and ac unit installed. The installation was not straightforward at all. We encounter several problems along the way but the team persevered through these setbacks and completed the project within the time frame agreed upon in the contract (3 days). The first problem was the weather on the first day. I emailed the team two days before the start and asked if this would be a problem. Yerevan assured me that the project could continue as planned and should not delay.
I confirmed this information when Zack and Tony arrived that morning and they stated that they could complete everything that needed to be done indoors that day and that I would have heat that same night (it was a cold rainy 40 degree night so heat was absolutely necessary). The second day I received a call from Yerevan that morning that Zack was not feeling well the day before and that as a precaution he would not be sending out the team that day to complete the ac installation.
This was no problem I didn't need air conditioning during this time of year. But the day before, the team left my huge new ac unit in the garage. I asked if it could be moved so that I could park my vehicle inside so Yerevan came over and helped move the unit outside. This was no easy task as this is a heavy unit and he had to dismantle our gate to move it to a location away from the garage.
The last day was the only day that the installation went without issue(s) and the job was complete. Just want to give a shout out to the team for a job well done. Zack is an expert installer and meticulous in his craft. I was impressed with his attention to detail and knowledge of our system. I would highly recommend Camino Air, without reservations.
As for their pricing, it is fair. This company will not try to upsell you to something you don't need and they will work with you to get you something you will love and is within budget. Thanks again Camino Air!

Amazing customer service, great experience. They were professional, good about giving us options, encouraged us to get quotes. Yerevan was extremely friendly and didn't try to rush me off the phone. Zach and team did the install, and they did a wonderful job and made sure to explain everything to us at the end, and explained maintenance and best practices.
They installed a smart thermostat and was willing to help us understand how the thermostat worked and even offered to help us with the app install. This company really cares about their customer, and they have great attention to detail. We really enjoyed working with Camino.

If I could give Camino Air another star, I would. They were actually superb in everything: from first contact to organizing the permit afterwards. I purchased and had installed two HVAC systems (one for upstairs and one for downstairs). I couldn't have had a better experience. It's a small company compared to some of the others and hard to choose between this and a large company, which was recommended by a neighbor.
Both had nearly identical quotes and either may have been fine; however, a spec contractor I know recommended Camino Air. I am thrilled with the equipment and the personal attention I received. The job was done in 1-1/2 days and my house was spotless when they left. If you're comparing quotes, I think you'll find most companies about the same.
If you would like someone always available by phone to respond to your questions and any concerns, check out Camino Air. By the way, I live in Carmel Valley by Del Mar. Camino Air, although located in Poway, isn't limited to the Poway area.

After my son recently purchased his first home built in 1999, he discovered the air condensing units were more noisy than he realized and they were right outside the wall of his office. It turned out they were at the end of their life expectancy and rusting out on the bottom from a leaking sprinkler system which was repaired. We reviewed online heating & air conditioning HVAC systems and decided on Carrier.
His house needed separate upstairs and downstairs systems and the 3 estimates for the combined systems were close and we found it was important to pay attention to the estimate's details which played a part in our decision. After 3 interviews we were most impressed with Gen Mgr Zack of Camino Air who sat down with us and explained everything in detail and then answered all of our questions.
He wasn't just the sales person but worked and supervised the men who all wore masks and bootys in the house. It took 2 days to complete the installation of 2 new Carrier Performance Multipoise 90,000 BTU two stage variable speed furnaces with new supply & return vents, Ecobee thermostats and condensers. Zack said the "two stage" 3 & 4 ton 17 Seer air condensing units on vibration reducing pads with a 10 yr warranty outside would be quiet and they are! The customer service was outstanding!

I can't thank much enough for Yerevan on his skills and expertise. When others change a hefty service fee to just to come out to give a free estimate, Yerevan provided really good tips regarding my AC unit and capacitor that I had problem with. I also got more tips on how to keep it running and maintaining. Thank you Camino Air Conditioning!

Air Conditioning Repair. About a month ago our central air blew up, literally. Did some home work on HVAC system and contacted 3 contractors, happy with two, selected Camino Air in Poway. Spoke at length via phone with Yeravan who happens to be the owner - he tends to answer his phone so it is an easy contact him. He came out, gave me a very fair price - and I emphasize very. Zach leads the install group, he came out for a visit beforehand.
I originally planned (sight unseen) to have the ducts replaced, he took a look and said it just need a fix in one location, saved me just under $1K so I upgraded the system. Zach, Pepe and Mike were in and out in a day, all friendly folks. Very neat. 2 minor items - actually bonus throw ins - needed further attention and Yeravan sent Pepe back 2x with no push-back.
I don't know Yervan personally but I think that it is important to do a shout to a small business that really wants to do a good job.and I don't receive a gratuity for this posting.

We went through several service providers with regards to our HVAC issues without much success. Most would request that there be a ~$100 fee for the first guy to come out and analyze the issue. then another person to come quote. and most of the answers we got ranged from "replace the whole system" to "sorry we're too busy for you. can you call back in 3 months".
After a few folks coming out. we tried to endure without our HVAC system. went through a cold winter with space heaters and started to feel the heat of summer. Finally during this early COVID period. there was a week when it was just way too hot. so we decided to call Camino Air on whim. Yerevan intercepted my call after hours. and was very kind and professional.
He requested that I email him with some additional information so that when he sent out his first technician. they wouldn't have to rehash the same drama we had already been through. I felt that was very intuitive and a good idea. He was able to have someone out to us within a few days of my telephone call. He must have sent the best guy on his team: Zach Hamilton, General Manager.
What a great guy. My husband felt that Zach "really knew his sh!t" (husband's words) and quickly identified the key issue to what was holding up the system. The two guys were having fun out there to problem solve the issue and I could hear them laughing like chums. Zach helped reconnect some doohikey (husband tried to explain it to me but we'll just call it a doohikey), unclogged the coolant system for the ac unit outside, and presto. there was air.
He charged a nominal service fee and really left good feelings through his service. My husband (who is very much a. let me figure it out myself guy) tacked Zach's business card to his board (and let me tell you. that's reserved for the few folks he is willing to call for service help). We had a great experience and highly recommend Camino Air for the decent price, quick scheduling, and strong communication. It's a small humble family business with a few stellar guys who excel in their trade. We appreciate the service and are happy to have our HVAC working for the unknown summer months ahead. Thanks Zach and Yerevan!

We have separate downstairs and upstairs systems that were replaced by Camino Air earlier this week. So far, so good - we're really liking the Ecobee thermostats - but, of course, the systems haven't been tested yet as the weather has been mild. However, I can already say that both systems are much, much quieter than the ones they replaced.
We had four quotes before choosing Camino. Theirs was easily the most thorough - including new vents and returns, which the other quotes didn't even address. (It's really nice that everything is new and clean!) They gave us quotes on four systems - 14 SEER, one-stage Payne, 16 SEER, one-stage Rheem, 17 SEER, two-stage Rheem, and 17 SEER two-stage Carrier.
We choose the Carrier because we're really embracing energy efficiency. (We're also going solar next week!) Of the equivalent systems for which we had quotes, Camino was neither the lowest, nor the highest. Installation was over three days - two 1/2 days, I guess. Clean up at the end of each day was excellent. Also, the technicians were very considerate as they worked. They fixed a known issued with the duct work in the upstairs system. And I was given a thorough tutorial on how to maintain the systems at the end.

AMAZING service. My husband and I own Postal Annex here in the Vons shopping center and we are responsible for our own A/C unit. It was running hot this morning and the building maintenance referred us to Camino. I actually was lucky enough to get help within a couple hours. Zack was absolutely incredible. The building being so dang old it is rotted but Zack was my hero and able to get it running and I am happy happy happy girl. Thank you Zack. I HIGHLY recommend any business, homeowner to please call them. Professional and a good attitude.

Update - new system in and Zack and team are simply amazing. You would be CRAZY to go with anyone else! Camino air is all you need. My AC unit died just prior to the first round of excessive heat we've had in Poway in late July. I had several quotes Finally - enter Zack. Zack has a look said he could do the larger system with no repiping, replace the old duct work, furnace, etc and here is why he gets my vote - he took the time to put a jumpstart on my compressor that has kept it running through more 100 degree days than I can count.
He went above and beyond and has made a huge difference for us. These guys have integrity, they are honest, they come highly recommended and do great work. Please use them for any and all HVAC work you may need

I HIGHLY recommend camino air! They are the BEST OF THE BEST! We moved into a house without AC and have barely been surviving in this heat wave. I'm pregnant and with a baby on the way and needed to rip the band aid off and get AC for the home. I have heard of nightmare stories about AC companies and people getting ripped off/ unprofessional crew arriving to install.
I called Camino air based on a friend who highly recommended them and they surpassed my expectations. Yerevan showed up the same day I called him and gave me an honest estimate. Since I'm barely surviving in this heat they went above and beyond to accommodate me and install on an early date. THANK YOU! Zack and his team showed up for install and were efficient and cleaned everything up.
The quality of work is impeccable and our house feels like a dream now. The quality of products they use are reliable and top of line: They were all friendly and amazing and you will be a fool to call anyone else but Camino Air!

I hesitate to write this review because this company is already so booked up in advance and are certainly not hurting for any additional business! But I had to write something because excellent work cannot and should not go unrecognized. Zack is my personal hero right now. My A/C conked out the night before a week that's supposed to be filled with 90 to 100 degrees days.
With a 5 and 3 year old, I was dreading what this meant. I contacted Camino Air Conditioning the very next morning and was greeted by a sympathetic yet honest employee, who told me how booked up they were, but also given the little ones said he'd do his best to get to me ASAP with the caveat that he could make no promises. Fair enough.everyone I know seemed to have a broken down A/C! Well, Zack managed to squeeze me into his already very busy schedule that very day, and he fixed everything right up.
He was fun to talk to, professional and efficient. He explained exactly what was wrong with my unit and even washed it as well as my extremely dirty filters down for me. Talk about going above and beyond! When all was said and done, I was floored (pardon the pun) by his price. I even blurted out, "That's it?!" Camino Air Conditioning has just earned themselves another loyal customer. Thank you *so* much again, Zack!

What a great company! I used them to install a pair of Nest thermostats for my home. The owner of the company came to install it. One went smoothly. The other took more time due to faulty wiring from a previous vendor. Instead of leaving me high end dry, the owner sent another team of techs (Zach and Alex) to continue to troubleshoot it. They fixed it the right way instead of doing a patch work job like the previous vendor.
Not only that, the owner followed up personally to make sure everything was ok even though it wasn't their fault to begin with. I'm blown away. Please use this company for all your HVAC needs!

We just had a new heating and AC unit installed by CaminoAir and it was an AMAZING experience from start to finish! After I called Zack Hamilton was out to our home a couple of days later. We loved his professionalism, knowledge & the quote was very reasonable. We had the installation appointment set up for the very next week. The job took 2 days & Zack and Pepe showed up on time every single day.
They laid down floor coverings, kept the house as clean as they could considering they were working in tight crawl spaces & in the attic. They also cleaned up every night before they left for the day. (Shout out to Zack and Pepe). I highly recommend CaminoAir. Give them a call, you won't be disappointed!

Camino Air and Zack are awesome! I have used them a few times for my business and now my home. This company is on time and reliable. I feel there prices are reasonable and the quality of work is top notch! I trust that they are only doing the work that needs to be done and doing it right. They don't try and sell you on things that do not need repair or replacement. Thanks everyone at Camino Air!

My wife and I purchased a home earlier this year in Scripps Ranch that only had forced heat but had never had AC installed. We figured we would try to wait through the summer and see if AC was really going to be necessary, assuming it wouldn't get too hot since the previous owners never seemed to need it. Boy were we wrong! Summer was brutal and we decided to start looking at AC installers.
I called a total 4 companies I found on Yelp since I knew this would probably be pretty pricey. I got a wide range of prices and opinions from different installers since we had a challenging location for the condenser unit. The last company I called was Camino, which was actually recommended to my wife by her co-worker. The owner came by personally to give an estimate and I was shocked at how good his pricing was.
He was very knowledgeable and came up with some solutions that the other companies hadn't looked at. Sometimes I can be a bit weary if a company prices lower because you may not get a quality job, but I decided to go with them anyways and we are so glad we did. All the workers showed up on time and by the end of the day we had ice cold AC pumping throughout the house.
The main thing I noticed was the quality of the install. Everything was very professional and cleanly done and so far the unit has been a lifesaver and working great. Highly recommend these guys.

Great company, great people! Zack came out, impressive guy, did some troubleshooting and gave me the lowdown on what's going on with my system. He had a part that I needed that was used, and sold it to me for about 50% of its value. He could have gotten more money if he sold it on ebay, but he had it sitting around just for this situation. I have never gotten along with an HVAC company, because I am extremely familiar with their bloated prices and subjective reports on repairs that need to be done. I have found my new AC company!
