Timberland Roofing

The Timberland website states that this company is licensed, bonded, and insured. However, the Davidson County Clerk communicated via email that this business does not have a valid Tennessee business license. My HOA hired this company to replace the roofs and gutters on two buildings containing six units. In addition, they were hired to replace the damaged window screens on both buildings.

The total amount of the job is $55,000. I wrote the majority of the checks to pay this company this amount. On Monday, January 4th, 2021, the work began. I spoke with Mr. Payne, a Timberland employee, who was leading the project that day. Mr. Payne was belligerent, rude, and used patronizing speech toward me. I explained that we were paying for work that was not yet performed, but he continued to push that we pay them early. Also, I stated that I was working from home early the next morning, and I would get a check by late morning.

On the evening of January 4th, 2021, he screamed at me on the phone after I asked him to make a slight modification to identify information on the invoice. After he yelled, he hung the phone up on me without allowing me to respond or calling me back. None of this prior behavior is acceptable. However, this all changed at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 when Mr. Payne crossed a line from unprofessionalism to sheer and aggressive harassment. Starting before 8:00 AM, Mr. Payne sent me demanding texts to get the check. Mr. Payne came unplanned and uninvited to my condo at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021.

He rang the doorbell multiple times. He pounded unnecessarily hard four times at my door demanding the check. To be honest, I was completely freaked out. During this incident, I was on a conference call with twelve overseas colleagues on my condo’s third floor. The people on the call could hear everything that Mr. Payne was doing on my porch as his racket echoed up the stairs to the third floor.

Among other things, Mr. Payne had zero respect for my work schedule and the fact that we are all COVID-19 homebound. I told Mr. Payne to never contact me again and have his supervisor contact me. That same week, Timberland’s owner, Mr. MacAllister, removed Mr. Payne from the job but did nothing whatsoever to benefit my HOA or me, as the customer.

During a meeting on Thursday, January 21st, 2021, Mr. MacAllister, the company owner stated that my account of what happened with Mr. Payne was not true. This made me believe that he was even behind Mr. Payne’s unacceptable behavior. Mr. MacAllister stated that he would provide feedback that disproved my account of the incident. That information was never provided.

I stand by the fact that the incident with Mr. Payne occurred just as I explained. In addition, during the same January 21st meeting, Mr. Stacey, another Timberland employee, stated that I was performing “extortion” by suggesting that the insurance depreciation amount not be paid to Timberland until the job was completed. This is exactly what our insurance adjuster was supposed to happen, and Timberland implied that I was an extortionist.

Lastly, Mr. McAllister has made attempts to just get the rest of our money and “be done” with this whole project despite the fact that numerous outstanding issues still exist.

I believe that Mr. Payne’s, Mr. McAllister’s, and Mr. Stacey’s behaviors were all unethical. This project should have taken a maximum of two months to complete. However, this project took over five months to complete. These delays are the responsibility of Timberland. Many communication issues existed with this company. I have numerous emails to Timberland Roofing that have gone unanswered, which was highly frustrating and exacerbated this situation. I do not trust nor recommend this company.

Timberland was able to get my roof completely replaced very quickly and handled a lot of the insurance process for me. They did an excellent job and was very considerate of the time urgency I had. Their crew cleaned up very well, leaving absolutely nothing behind. I would highly recommend Timberland Roofing. Shout out to Josh, he couldn't have made the process any easier.

Thanks to Rob MacAllister and Timerland Roofing, we now have a beautiful new roof overhead. After storms this past spring I visually inspected the roof for damage but it was Rob MacAllister with Timberland roofing that was able to show me just how much damage had been done. Rob helped us through the insurance process to get approval and once that was done it took about two weeks before his team could get here to begin the project.

Before that, Mike, the roofing project manager and crew chief came out and went over what we should expect once the work began. On the day of the project, Mike and the crew arrived early and on time. While the crew got set up, and as materials began to arrive, Mike personally went up into our attic space to tarp all our belongings to keep everything as clean as possible.

The crew worked very efficiently throughout the day and during that time Mike kept me updated with images he took with a drone as the work progressed. Once work was complete the crew was meticulous in cleaning up all debris and went over the yard with a magnet broom to retrieve any nails that has made it down to the yard. During the walk around with Mike after work was complete, I noticed one small cosmetic item that I requested be adjusted which Mike took care of personally. As a satisficed client, I would recommend Timberland Roofing to any looking to restore the functionally and beauty of a new roof for their home.

From start to finish Timberland was terrific. They assisted with working with my insurance company from the recent hail storm, were responsive to every one of my questions, gave superior customer service, were friendly, made me feel like I was their only customer (when I know I wasn't), and had great follow through. As a matter of fact, my neighbor has chosen to use them because of their timely, efficient, cost effective, excellent service and product. If you are looking for a roof company for repair or replacement (latter was my case), choose Timberland Roofing. Rob / Jordan / Nick / Josh - all are great!

Mike and Dan from Timberland were very professional and friendly and exceeded our expectations. They did a no obligation inspection with lots of photos (including drone photos) and pointed out damage and areas of concern. The new roof install went very smoothly and we appreciated Mike's attention to detail in making sure a small list of minor adjustments to the new roof were completed. Mike was great with the inspection as well as talking with insurance for repairs. We even had an ice dam after the project was complete and he responded right away and came over to check it out and prevent the problem from getting worse. Highly recommend.

When the tornado came through Hermitage, I had no clue who to use for my damaged roof. When I tried reaching out to companies, they were all 4-6 weeks booked out. I thought all hope was lost until I called Timberland Roofing Co. Although they were quite busy, they were able to assess the damage from the storm, and promptly get a crew out within 1 week! I would give them 10/5 stars if I could!

My roof was old and needed to be replaced. Roof's are extremely expensive but with the help from the team at Timberland Roofing our roof was paid for through our insurance. Josh, Rich, Jordan, Nick, and their roofing team handled everything. They are courteous, professional, and the process was quick. Timberland Roofing did a FANTASTIC job on our home. They were prompt, courteous and professional. Their crew completed our entire roof in ONE DAY. Their attention to post- roofing Clean-up was top notch - they dragged our property with magnets several time to get ALL roofing nails that might be in our yard or garden. A month or so later we noticed a vent pipe from the roof to our HVAC had been slightly damaged - Timberland immediately took care of the plumbing invoice to repair the problem. Then, while in the process of selling our house, the buyer asked for additional proof of inspection - I called Timberland and they sent out one of their people the same day to reinspect the roof and provide us written proof for the buyer's records. The Folks at Timberland have simply been fantastic to work with - I strongly recommend them to anyone.

Timberland Roofing was great to work with... from the quote, to working with the insurance adjuster, to install and all the way through to follow up! They truly made it a seem less process!

Everyone at Timberland was great to work with. They worked with our insurance co on getting claim covered. They even met them on site to review damage. They were very professional and great follow up. The crew was fast and did great job cleaning up. My roof looks wonderful and i enjoyed working with Dan and Mike. I highly recommend them.
