We have had wonderful experiences with Empire Roofing. 7 years ago we got a new roof done with them which was amazing start to finish. Empire Roofing replaced our old roof and did a great job! Quick, reasonable initial estimate. Showed up quickly to do the work. They tore off the old roof, without leaving any mess behind at all! Hard working, polite and professional. There was one small communications issue, which they promptly resolved with no problem. Highly recommended!

From the very start Empire proved to be the best choice for the job. They were up against the weather from the start this spring and when they got their opening they came out and replaced the roof on the house and garage, cleaned up and were finished in one day. Following wind damage to our home this Spring, we were forced to seek out a contractor for an assessment and repair. I must admit that up until now, I had not heard much in way of positive comments on roofing contractors in general. We selected Empire and worked with Marlin and Michael Nelson. From the initial meeting on through roof replacement they were great.

The staff completing the work were very fast and professional as well. The house and garage were finished in one day, and they look GREAT! A shout out as well to the young technician who visited the site for both pre and post inspections. He was an excellent representative of Empire. Thank you very much.

Empire Roofing was great to work on many fronts. I highly recommend them. They installed a new roof, soffits, fascia and gutters on my house. They helped me work with my insurance company regarding wind damage by providing detailed work estimates, drawings and drone footage and following up repeatedly with the adjustors. The crew and managers were always courteous and professional.

We live in a remote part of Cook County and we were having trouble finding someone to replace our aging roof. We ended up with three competitive estimates, but Michael Nelson and Empire were far and away the most responsive. We were super impressed with how quickly Michael returned our calls and responded to email, and the work was excellent. We highly recommend Empire Roofing!

We had Empire do our new roof this past Friday. It only took them one full day to complete. Michael came and did the estimate and we communicated well with each other through the process. Had work done by this company almost 4-5 years ago - 3 different crews were hired under them to perform the work. The crew members argued amongst one another frequently. They sided OVER my backyard light (still not fixed), didn't clip in all siding correctly (hence causing pieces to blow or break off over time), drip edges/soffit have issues, still find roofing nails here and there in the yard, they had left a partial pack of shingles behind in backyard (someone finally picked that up) during "clean up", there are several areas on the home where the trim was placed sloppily and there are exposed nails, etc visible from the ground! Had internal damage from an area not sealed correctly. Unfortunately, very little response or things done to correct these issues!

Despite calling, texting AND contacting through social media. Someone would acknowledge - then I wouldn't hear back for months. Finally this past winter someone came to fix one of the major issues - but only patched it temporarily - STILL waiting for a full/actual repair so that future damage(s) don't occur. I don't know of any reputable company that wouldn't WANT to assist their prior customers with shoddy work and issues BEFORE taking on more/new.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the result of our roof. Here's a breakdown on the company's performance. Project Manager: Geoff was very courteous, punctual, and a very good listener. He was very descriptive on the insurance process and showed up to all our appointments on time. He responded to my emails and phone calls promptly. Grade: A Roofers: The roofer worked super hard. 12 hours the first day. 15 hours the second day.

The two days were hot - 85+ degrees and often windy. They took necessary breaks and never left the job for another. I appreciate the commitment. Grade A Ground prep and material handling: I had several problems here. Our house is pretty tight with our next door neighbor. My neighbor has a beautiful shade garden which the ground crew cut through a 3+ foot wide path for disposal.

Her plants were fully bloomed and we won't know what will live until they sprout again next spring. There were several whole sheets of shingles that didn't get picked up until 3 days after the crew was done with the job. String of nails were hung on phone lines and one of our antique lead window was broken. The biggest problem I here was broken glass spilled into our hallway.

The crew didn't come in to alert us of the danger or offer to clean it up. We cleaned it up ourselves and let had to alert the project managers along with the roofers. Thirdly, some of my siding material nearby got damaged due to being stepped on. The material and broken window had to be replaced Grade: F Paper work: The office staff did a great job here.

The billing was straight forward. In term of replacing our window, materials, and working with my neighbor's damaged garden, Empire did not hesitate to make it right. Geoff spoke to our neighbor and took her input gracefully. My window is being compensated by Empire as well as the damaged siding material. Grade: A Overall opinion: Empire is a good company.

They were thorough, polite, punctual, priced fairly, and delivered beautiful end product. They're good at what they do and I wouldn't be reluctant to employ them again for my garage. I just wish I didn't have to deal with the mishap, but they did the best they could in all 3 situations. Thank you.

DO NOT use Empire for your roofing needs! Marlin, the owner doesn't even have the decency to return phone calls or deal with any problems his company has caused. He actually has his staff screen calls, promise he will return messages after multiple attempts, yet goes completely off the grid to avoid conflict. He completely takes advantage of senior citizens, overpricing his work, completely screwing up roofs and applying shingles incorrectly where they are lifting in some areas and disintegrating in others. Horrible experience - having to take legal action to deal with this crook! Run away!

Uses wet backs who do not speak English. He was to do a tear off and new material. Did a fast over lay of shingles. Added too much weight to roof and they damaged vinyl siding. A call to building inspection was made and a new contractor used to redo the work. This guy uses in- house financing to get work and has crews who subcontract. You do not get a quality roofer.

Great Job! We were very comfortable with everyone working our project. They knew their job anbd did it well. Job well done! We would recommend Empire Roofing.

I was very satisfied with the Great Service and Quality I received from Empire Roofing. The did both my roof and siding. The job they did on both of these turned out excellent. I asked around prior to getting any work done and two of my co-workers both recommended Empire Roofing to me, that is why I used them as well.

We had our roof replaced this past fall by Empire Roofing, and we have nothing but good things to say about this outfit. They did an outstanding job. Their staff and workers are friendly, courteous, and very helpful. They were on the job bright and early each morning even though our home is way out in the sticks.

My husband and I were very pleased with the job that Empire Roofing did for us. We have a huge roof and it's very steep.

I have been given the run around for over a month regarding a quote given to my husband and I about work we needed on a home we bought based on their experts quote. After the money for repair was tied into the sale of our new home and check written to Empire from the title company Empire came back with a new price that was double the original quote.

The excuse given was that the person that gave the quote was no longer with the company. They have said that they would try to contract out the job but we have heard nothing from them in a week and a half. I hope that my opinion will be changed but at this point I feel abandoned and taken advantage of. I would not trust their word or quote. Bad business in my opinion.

Empire Roofing replaced our hail damaged roof last fall and we were thrilled with the service we received. In my mind, they went above and beyond my expectations to get the job done in a timely manner. The roofers were also very respectful to us and took the time to actually explain the work that they did. I will gladly recommend them to my family and friends!

We will gladly refer our friends and neighbors to Empire Roofing! They led us through the MN match law process and then replaced our roof. Everyone we worked with was friendly and helpful. Our roof looks great and we don't have any more of those 80's curls!

It was the best experience have had with a contractor, called them and 3 hours later he was there to do estimate. 2 weeks later they did my house and garage in one day. They fixed some things that were not on the bid and put in extras that the insurance didn't include to make sure it met code.

I wish all my business transactions would go as smooth and efficiently as this one. Everything was explained so completely that I had no questions. The crew that did the work was outstanding. The job they did was done perfectly and quickly.

Empire crew replaced my roof in about four hours. Looks good, but only some time with poor weather will determine if they did a good job. Crew removed the old roof (three layers!) and roofed the house.
