Report
Houston Tile Floor Cleaning: Ceramic and porcelain tiles are manmade tiles that are impervious to penetration due to the fact that they are fired under high heat to shrink out the moisture and glazed over to create a totally sealed floor. They resist acids as well as any natural stone and better than most.
Honing
Report
Houston Stone Floor Honing: Marble can be honed to a matte or satin finish through a grinding process. We can also remove severe etching and deep scratching through our natural stone honing service. Honing is often needed to remove damage, and it is often used to provide a less glossy finish to the stone.
Polishing
Report
Can be done with the polishing process using diamond polishing. Diamond polishing which is running a very fine grit diamond with water until you receive the desired polish. Then finished with polishing powders, pastes, or diamond pads. These pastes and powders are very abrasive and acidic and when used correctly they can give good results.
Cleaning
Report
Due to its acid sensitivity, marble must be cleaned using an alkaline cleaning solution. We give the solution approximately 20 minutes of dwell time. This gives the cleaner time to emulsify the dirt that is embedded into the stone and grout. We then use an industry accepted spinner tool which provides pressure coupled with vacuum for extraction.
Restoration
Report
A polished marble floor will scratch very easily compared to a harder stone like granite. Sand, which has a hardness rating of 7 on Moh's Scale will scratch marble if it walked onto as most marble has a hardness rating of about 3. The reflectivity after polishing marble is caused by natural crystals in the stone.

Jarret and Mark were great! I had a challenging job. They stripped a weird sealer off my travertine, then they cleaned, sealed, polished and repaired some holes. Now every time I walk into the kitchen or family room I think there's water on the floor because it's so shiny. Scheduling and communication with Jarret was easy and straightforward. I will have them clean my stone every couple years. It makes such a huge difference. I would highly recommend them.

Had a sealer taken off our travertine floors, Jarrett and Mark did a fantastic job. They cleaned and polished the floors after getting the sealer off and now they shine even more and look like new. We had all of the almost 15 year old travertine flooring in our house cleaned and polished. The guys arrived on time, explained the process, and got everything done within a day as promised. I took a chance and used Modern Stone Care based on their reviews. Best decision I made all year. Jarrett and Mark are extremely professional, friendly and most importantly fast, efficient and know how to clean and restore the luster to a variety of stonework. They brought the marble tile in my powder room back to its original luster after being accidentally stripped when my dad tried cleaning it for me with harsh chemicals.
My kitchen floor looks like we haven't had numerous 4 legged children for over 20 years, you can actually see the original color of the grout! I highly recommend Jarrett and Mark for your stone care needs!

What an amazing job modern stone care did on my marble floors, oh my goodness! I've never had my marble floors cleaned until today, now I regret not doing it sooner. I highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to see a significant improvement and their stone floors. Really nice folks who come to the house and they leave the house very clean and neat.

This company did a beautiful job cleaning and honing my marble floors to a lovely matte finish last Fall. When a full bottle of red wine was dropped on the floor last week, staining and etching occurred. Within 24 hours of calling Modern Stone Care, they were here and were able to clean and reseal the area. These guys do great work! Highly recommend!

These guys are awesome- I got bids from several companies to restore our stone floors not only was this the least expensive bid but we are thrilled with the result. The showed up promptly at the time they said they would and did exactly what they promised. It is better than we expected and I would highly recommend them as very professional.

Prompt, pleasant, professional- explained the science behind the process thoroughly and patiently. More expensive than the other two quotes, but negotiated down a bit and did a wonderful job. Agreed to return to top off a large hole in the travertine that hadn't been fully filled- had told us to expect that with this tile prior to filling, though. Great folks!

I cannot say enough good things about Modern Stone Care. They were professional, timely, great quote, very honest. I had had about 3 other estimates that were all much higher. Jeff assured me of his process and I could tell he was not trying to take advantage of me or pressure me. The result is excellent. I will be hiring them in the future the next time my floors need polishing.

It was a wow moment to see how clean my marble got! Love love love! Have black marble with white veins all through my home. It was etch and dull. After MSC cleaned my floor it looked better than the day it was installed!
