Husband and wife team Jim and Cindy Stevens started RAM Heating and Air Conditioning in 1983. We began serving the Greater Baton Rouge Area with just one truck and 2 employees. We offer residential and commercial heating and cooling services, including HVAC maintenance, repairs and replacement. We are licensed, bonded and insured to work on all major heating and cooling brands.
In the past 31 years, we've grown our services, our staff and our expertise. We're certified as Trane Comfort Specialists, and we've received the National Trane "Distinguished Dealer" Award 8 times. But we haven't lost touch with why we got into business: to keep you and your family comfortable.

We have a service contract with Ram and have been impressed with their excellent service. Shannon found we needed freon in our larger unit and said we probably had a leak. Tom performed leak detection and found a small leak and fixed it. At a later date our small unit stopped operating and Mike came immediately on a weekend to replace the capacitor. All were professional, on time, knowledgeable and personable. We highly recommend Ram.

Phoned Ram Heating and Air out of the blue as a new customer and they responded the same day. The technician phoned someone that knew exactly what to do to fix our situation. It was very cold outside and our heat was not working due to the thermostat. They had it at least working same day and replaced the thermostat next day! I cannot say enough good things about the technician or the person on the phone talking him through the situation. Ram was the 3rd Trane rep we called that day but the only one that knew what they were doing.
They quoted a price and the price did not change one cent! And a few days later they sent us a Thank You note! Unbelievable, I would recommend Ram Heating and Air to everyone! You will not be disappointed!

Ram recently came out for a service call and diagnosed a cracked coil. They ordered the part and installed a few days later. They came on time, we're very courteous, and even recommended that I replace the part rather replace the whole system. I was impressed with their honesty and work. Service: Installation

I had the outdoor compressor and evaporator coil replaced for three a/c units over the past 24 months. RAM did a very professional and thorough job replacing the units. They answered all my questions and explained everything that they were doing during the replacement process. The entire crew was friendly and very competent. I haven't used them for routine maintenance of the units but I'm sure the maintenance crew is equally professional. I recommend them without any reservations.

I moved into a 9 year old home 4 months ago. When I started to have problems, I called RAM since their company name was on the A/C unit. I now have had 3 service calls from them within 6 weeks. Admittedly, the first time was my fault - I didn't understand the fancy thermostat & the technician was very helpful in familiarizing me with it. Then 2 more calls within 3 weeks when the system was not cooling - first call drip pan full - cleaned & serviced unit in the attic & was told they checked the outside & found no problems. 3 weeks later, system not cooling & they tell me the motor to the condenser is out & suggested that the entire unit be replaced to the tune of $5000.
When I called to ask why this was not found on the service call just 3 weeks ago, I was told it had "just gone out" & compared it to bringing a car in for a flat tire & finding something else wrong with the car. They WERE very prompt in the service calls & also returned my call promptly when I questioned the $800 I had already spent in just 6 weeks, however they remained firm in their quote even telling me the motor was not in stock & would have to be ordered & I would have to pay freight cost as well if I chose to only have the motor replaced.
I do not believe this kind of service would have happened when Jim was owner of RAM. I gave them 2 stars for prompt and courteous service calls. I should have called my very dependable & honest, hard-working a/c service guy from my old house. And I did as soon as I hung up with RAM. Foolishly I thought since RAM installed the unit less than 10 years ago, there would be some kind of warranty on it. New owners will not get my business again!

First - I called Ram Air to schedule maintenance on my HVAC system and enroll in their Energy Savings Agreement Plan. Price was $164 and appointment scheduled quickly. Ram Air maintenance person came to my home to service 11 year old system. Employee was very professional and courteous. He performed an inspection of the outdoor and indoor units as well as a cleaning.

Been doing business with RAM Heating and Air for 20 years now. They are reasonably priced and only do work that's necessary. They always provide the lowest cost option and others and let me choose. They are around to service what they sell and take care of their customers. Highly recommended for a Trane dealer in Baton Rouge.

I love RAM heating and Air. We have a certain technician we ask for by name and he is great. We have truly formed a relationship with this young man and it is nice to have someone you can depend on and trust to handle these things. If you're looking for a good Heating or Air company, this is the one.

Great customer service! I can't say enough about how professional they were. They really took the time to explain to me what the issue was with my AC and made sure I understood my options. They made some recommendations on what they thought I should do, but ultimately didn't pressure me into anything. They came out the same day I called.
They went above and beyond what I asked for. The crew that came out to do the work was very polite, did a great job, and took the extra time to make sure they left my house just as clean as it was when they arrived.

My wife and I recently bought a new home that is covered by a home warranty. About 2 weeks after we moved in the ac unit started freezing up. Dealing with the warranty company proved to be a terrible idea. They sent out two different Heating and air contractors and neither of them was able to correctly diagnose and fix our problem. We were without AC for 10 days in July heat in Louisiana. Luckily we called RAM Heating & AC next (I wish we had called them first). Seeing that it was an emergency they sent a technician out on a Wednesday evening.
The problem took a couple of hours to diagnose but RAM got it right the first time. Apparently the control board on the unit was bad and was sending out low voltage that was proceeding to kill anything attached to it. It killed our new nice Nest thermostat an if the problem had continued it would have destroyed our outside unit. The technician stayed Wednesday until he knew exactly what he would need to fix the unit first thing Thursday morning.
The unit was correctly diagnosed and was blowing cool air again by 10 am Thursday morning. I cannot thank RAM enough for their fast, prompt and helpful service. I would give them 10 stars it this thing would allow it. They have my business for life. Call them first. Don't mess around with anyone else.
