Chism Brothers Painting

Chism brothers painted our kitchen cabinets and kitchen walls. They were incredibly professional and detail oriented throughout the entire process. Our cabinets were older cabinets that we didnt want to pay to fully replace, but we wanted to make them look as nice as we could with the older cabinets and Chism brothers did just that! They sanded everything down, re-drilled holes for our new handles, and made them look brand new.

We have used Chism Brothers for all of our painting needs for the last 15 years. They do excellent work, provide great value, and are the neatest tradesmen that I have ever had in my home. Services: Interior painting, Exterior painting

Good work, but horrible staff. The man that worked with us wears glasses/ kinda short with dark beard/ was rude and unprofessional.

This is our second time using Chism Bros for our old (built 1890), large, Victorian home. They did a beautiful job on the interior in spite of the many trim challenges throughout the home. Grant (the Estimator) and Freddie and his crew were simply the best. They were professional, on time, meticulous, responsive, and very experienced. They were a joy to work with and we knew that our home was in expert hands. We give them our highest recommendation.

We were selling a 56 year old home and needed to brighten up some of the rooms that had older, darker paint for a better showing. Chism Brothers Painting gave us the most reasonable bid for the project and then delivered on the service they promised. I had an appointment for an estimate at 8:30. Just a couple of minutes past 8:30 I get a call saying that he seems to be at the wrong address and that he would be here shortly. I let him know I had other painters stop by later, which might create an overlap. He jokingly said that would be fine as long as he gets there before. I called the office since nobody picked up left a message asking if they knew why he might have the wrong address, since I provided all of my contact info.

After a short time goes by I get another call telling me that he would be here in about 15 minutes and if I wanted to reschedule. I told him that I am ok as long as he shows up in 15 minutes. That was the last I heard. No calls from the office or anything explaining the reasons for any mix up. I think their claim of superior service begins with your first contact and they did drop the ball, but what made me give this experience 1 star is because no effort was made to correct the situation.

Excellent, extremely professional and reliable. I had Sergio and Carlos Nanco paint several rooms and areas, after a major repipe of my Pt. Loma condo. I had used Chism brothers before, and was very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. I would definitely use them again. very satisfied on how everything turned out!

Freddie and Marco did an amazing job repainting our kitchen cabinets. They look brand new and the price was very reasonable. It transformed our kitchen and we are very happy with how they turned out. Freddie and Marco just finished painting my kitchen cabinets. I simply could not be more impressed. They show up every day at exactly 7 AM. They are communicative and respectful of my house, my kids and my pets. They sent me texts of their progress while I was at work. I lost two handles trying to clean them and Freddie bought my replacements without asking me even though it was completely my fault.

They take extreme care with details and fixed gaps between my cabinets and the wall/ ceiling that I had never even noticed when they really didn't have to. Freddie painted the baseboards too because he wanted me to love the final look. I would use Chism 100 times again.

I shopped around before deciding who to use to paint my kitchen cabinets. I was limited in space to have them work in my kitchen, and I was concerned of the type of paint they would use, the mess in the kitchen, and the duration of the project. All that to say, they were amazing to work with. Carol, the office manager is very thorough in walking you to the process and making sure you are comfortable with the dates, etc. Raul, the project manager is very professional and he explained every step in detail. The work was completed in time, the materials they used are high quality and I am very pleased with their work.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with the Chism Brothers team and cannot say enough about them. From Carolyn's grace and timeliness in dealing with our appointment and booking the job, to Guy Wight promptly and perfectly understanding our interior and exterior needs, to finally Grant and Marco being absolutely respectful of our house, our toddler daughters and doing an incredible job to complete an idyllic experience. I cannot but give Chism Brothers 10 STARS, however Google is limiting me to 5. So I will be sure to give them another top mark review on another system as well.

This was a wonderful company from start to finish. I needed the exterior of my home painted. Mike Chism came out for the estimate. He was on time, professional, and quick. He explained a lot about the different paints for my exterior type and offered suggestions for someone to do some repair work. That company was great. I received a fair quote from Mike and scheduled the work that would last four days.

I emailed and spoke with the office manager, Carolyn, a few times and she was very polite, professional, and on the ball. She sent me Gorge as my project manager. What an incredible worker. He showed up on time and ready to work. He went over the job with me first and answered all my questions. Gorge was on time every day and let me know what he was going to be doing that day.

I really liked his communication and the effort he put into his work. He checked with me regularly to make sure I was satisfied with how everything was progressing. He was very meticulous and experienced, and he managed his workers very well. They seemed to like working for him. When they were done they cleaned everything up so it was all neat. All around satisfaction! I would highly recommend to anyone and I will rehire when needed.

We hired Chism Brothers for our home interior paint project. Walls, ceiling, doors and archways, baseboards, kitchen and bathroom cabinets and stairway hand rail. Victor and his crew were the ultimate professionals, courteous and friendly. Our project started on the day we scheduled and was 100% on time. Victor is a great communicator and kept us informed daily about their progress and their next steps.

It was evident from day 1 that Victor cared very much about customer service and making sure we had all questions answered. The crew showed up at the same time every morning and cleaned up at the end of each day. When they were done, our home looked liked something you see on HGTV! So happy with the results! The entire crew is very professional, fairly priced, and their attention to detail is just what my old house needed. I live in 1927 Kensington home with old windows and doors that Victor was willing to do a little restoration on before painting. The experience has been better than I expected. Thank you, Chism!

This review is long overdue. About 6 years ago I had the most respectful painter in existence visit my place. So much so, that his presence has stuck with me in 2020. He was very knowledgeable of painting upgrades and removing popcorn from the ceiling. The gentleman was named Veirnon Johnson. What great customer service. Thank you for your great work Veirnon and Chism! You hiring practices prove that you really are a pillar of the community.

Doors, Entertainment center, walls, ceilings. San Diego, CA After the estimate we hired Chism to paint our family room entertainment center as well the ceiling, moldings and walls. Also, we had them strip and re-finish/stain/varnish both of our front doors. Kitchen ceiling as well. Victor and David did all the work, every day for 2 weeks. + Mike even stopped by to say hello.

He and his brother painted our kitchen walls and cabinets a few years back. All the areas were done in exquisite fashion! Very neet, detailed oriented. Cleaned up great each day. Gave us labeled detailed list of paints/stains, and paint cans for any touch ups. Hope to have them back soon. Would recommend without question. Bill

I live in North Mission Hills in a 1000 sq ft Mission Revival house. I initially was going to get 3 estimates but only did one after talking with Victor the estimator. I received the proposal which was very fair and work started at the agreed date and time. Zach and crew were very professional, worked the hours agreed and communicated with me daily.

They arrived on time, WORKED during the specified hours and did and OUTSTANDING job. I'm a very particular guy and they were also. I just wanted to post an update. Since having the exterior of my house painted, I also had my kitchen cabinets repainted. Again Victor arrived to describe the process and provide an estimate. He is always patient with all of my questions which he thoroughly answers. Zach was my painter. He is professional and personable. I loved his attention to detail and the beautiful work he did. I'm with Katie E who would give Chism Brothers 10 stars! All employees we had contact with were courteous and professional. The painters were so skilled, miraculously transforming our 60 year old house into one that looks brand new and will continue to look beautiful for years to come. The interior of our house is in serious need of paint, so we will be hiring Chism again when the time comes.

Painting a house costs several thousands of dollars and Chism was our highest bidder (which wasn't that much higher than the one below it), but we knew it would be worth it. If I could give a 10 Star review I would! The entire team at Chism Bros. Painting was amazing, professional and very communicative throughout the entire process. We just bought a new home so we needed the entire interior painted. Our first interaction with the team was with their sales manager, Victor, who came to our home to give us an estimate for the job.

He was professional and friendly and was very understanding when it came to what we wanted and our budget. We got several bids from local painting companies, and we decided to go with Chism because of their professionalism, competitive pricing, and outstanding reputation in the business for over 35 years. Once our job started, Freddie and his team were able to accommodate our early start date and get some of the house done so we could move in, which was much appreciated with a toddler.

Throughout the project, Freddie and his team were very courteous, attentive, and professional. They were also extremely meticulous, which I very much appreciated! I even decided to change the paint color in my bathroom and they were very understanding and made the switch without any issues. They worked very quickly and actually finished the job a few days early, which was so nice since we had just moved in.

I really can't say enough good things about this company and the team we worked with. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing paint work at their home or business. You will not be disappointed! They certainly over delivered for us and we truly appreciated it!

I read the reviews most of them is 5* and a friend in Utah also told us about your company. I wonder if My husband could join your team. He's a hard worker that have good skills and knows how to use many tools with more than 20yrs experiences in residential and commercial (interior, exterior, cabinet painting, etc) and good managing his project that still looking for the best opportunity. I wonder if you still have job opportunities in your company :)

Figured we'd end up with Chism Brothers based upon terrific reviews but unfortunately their quote was two-times the market rate for a generic house painting job.

We wanted our whole house painted on the inside. We are both home most of the day so we went with people we can trust. Marty Sass and his team: Vic, Jordan, and Tommy, came when we asked them to come (7am) every day - and cleaned up and left before we had to make dinner each night (3pm). So it didn't feel like we were working around them at all.

Chism Brothers just finished painting the entire exterior of our home. It was a pleasure working with them from start to finish - they did a fantastic job! James the estimator is very personable and extremely knowledgable! Marty and his crew arrived on time everyday, they were very professional, and polite. The crew cleaned up at the end of each day and took great care not to inconvenience us. Marty kept us updated every step of the way on the completion of our project since it took several weeks! Chism may of been one of my highest bids and I was a little skeptical going with them but in the end you get what you pay for and I would definitely use Chism Brothers again in the future. Just a great group of people to work with. we had no issues at all!

After obtaining three bids to repaint our small church and cottage, selected Chism Brothers even though they were the highest bid, because of their reputation. Kurt and his team worked for two weeks and not only did a fine job, but went the extra mile on every decision and did things that they could have gotten away with. When I think of CHISM, and you might ask other customers as well, I think of someone that was reliable, efficient, professional, and reasonable. Above all, you guys did more than the job. You helped not just paint my house, but fixing up my house along the way. You care about your customers. You are there for the long term.

The employees were superb in many ways. They were on time, respectful, friendly, take pride in their work, and no radio. They have been in business for 30 year and have a family atmosphere.

Very professional, polite, and they do great work. This is one of the best companies that I have worked with, and I will definitely hire them again. Bernie, the site foreman, and person who did most of the actual painting, deserves special recognition for being extremely thorough with his work and clean-up, and also being very polite and courteous. They just finished painting several rooms in my house and stained and cleaned up all the dinged up doors, and door frames. Their commitment to customer satisfaction is notable. Everything was done well, on time and with great attention to detail. They also helped me with some decisionmaking, but only when i asked. The estimator and the lead painter were delightful. am very pleased and will definitely use them again.

When the estimator James Becker showed up at my home to review the work needed on the house, I handed him a work spec (as I had with all the other estimators who had come) so that the estimates would be equal. His initial reaction was one of hostility, going line by line and saying what "crap" the paint products were (the spec was written by a paint company who had recommended Chism Brothers).

It was a pretty spectacular meltdown he had in my front yard. After he got through the spec, we walked the property and talked about the various items to be covered. At the end of the walk through he seemed to have calmed down and started saying how some of the spec'd products weren't so bad after all. I have no idea if he realized that he had just trashed the company who had recommended his company or if it was something else, but by the time he left my driveway I had already made up my mind that there was no way I'd hire this company based on my interaction with Mr. Becker.

A week later their bid came in $7,000 higher than the other 5 bids I had gotten. Perhaps this company does good work but I can only review the less than professional employee they sent out my way.

My wife and I had our front doors stripped and stained by Chism Brothers and we are very happy with the work that was done. Jim Slater did the estimate as well as the installation of the new hardware. Jim was very professional and his work was outstanding. The bulk of the work, the stripping and staining of the doors, was done by Troy Paine and we couldn't be happier with the work he did.

I asked Troy to come back to correct some minor issues and he did it immediately. Our doors look better than they did when we first bought the house back in 1998. I heartedly recommend Chism Brothers to anyone wanting to have any refinishing and/or painting done.

I am the Board Chair of the Palomar Family Y in Escondido. Chism Brothers performed exceptional work for us on short term notice. They made sure they did not disturb the ordinary operations of membership while giving us a significant upgrade.

Had a great experience with Chism. They were professional throughout, prompt, courteous, experienced. They carefully primed and painted a billion miles of pipe rail and I didn't notice any errors--unlike another person I later used who made a bunch of obvious mistakes. As an example of their service, they do not wash out any brushes on your property, they take them away so there is no paint anywhere. Other painters have just rinsed their stuff off in my plantings.

These painters are consummate professionals. Attention to detail and years of experience make for a beautiful outcome. The friendly and well mannered crew do little 'extras' as part of the service. As just a single example, a sitting mother bird and her eggs were carefully treated in spite of the extra time it took. One thing we noted was that the neighbor's plants and property were treated as respectfully as our own.
