The Painting

I recently had the pleasure of having Atlanta Painting Company paint the outside trim of my house as well as a wrap around front porch and back deck. It was actually quite easy and a pleasant experience. I called 3 reputable Atlanta painting companies, and requested quotes. APC was the most competitive and I chose them. The crew they sent out were very nice and really good painters.

Because they were doing trim, there was a lot of cut in work and they did it perfectly. I wish all business transactions were this easy. You can count on competitive pricing and an excellent finished product.

The painters did an ok job, but there are problems such as bubbling and nails poking through that the painters were supposed to cover but didn't. I chose Atlanta painting company because they swore they used excellent quality paint, "do things the right way" (the salesperson Casey's words, not mine), and have a warranty that guarantees they will come out and fix things that come up afterwards like bubbling. HAH.

They tried to change the paint on me and use the lowest line of Sherwin Williams, and then insisted on charging an extra $400 for the paint Casey said they would use in the first place. I agreed to the upcharge because I didn't want to argue about it, I just wanted the painting done the right way. They finished the job on a Saturday way back in March, and the project manager called me at 8:30pm on Saturday and insisted I give her my credit card information over the phone.

I could hear she was at home and not in an office and just did not feel right about giving out my credit card on a Saturday night to an employee who's home, so I refused and instead called the office and paid on Monday morning. Shannon was extremely unprofessional while she was in my house as well-- I speak Spanish and could hear her rushing the painters, arguing with them over what was in the contract and what wasn't, and I heard them tell her they had underestimated the amount of paint needed for the two coats stated in the contract so she turned around and told me that I need a third coat of paint and therefore need to pay for more paint.

After the job was "completed", I spoke several times with Casey and told him that things were not finished. There were spots on the walls that weren't covered with paint, there were paint bubbles already forming, nails were poking through, there were paint stains on my carpet, the crew left plastic on the floors and the furniture was not put back as promised.

The entire house was absolutely filthy with dust and paint on surfaces I wasn't planning on replacing (like the carpets) that then had to be replaced. Worse still, it's been months now and I have areas of just a terrible paint job and I've called the office, called the salesperson, and filled out their online claims form. NOTHING. They've ghosted me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I can't say enough great things about this company. They are a fantastic group of people. Constant communication with me throughout the project. Megan was upfront and honest about the pricing. We had popcorn removed from our upstairs ceilings. Boy what a project it turned into. Our awesome Project Manager was Shannon. He did a wonderful job keeping us informed all along the way via text, phone, or stopping by the house. After the popcorn was removed, our sheetrock joints were a mess and not straight. When the first subcontractors encountered problems, Shannon immediately got another crew to continue the project.

The final crew was actually from Atlanta Painting Co, knew what was needed, and corrected the problem. Shannon promised we would be a happy with the final result and we are. We cannot say enough good things about Shannon. We really enjoyed talking with him and we felt confident in our selection of Atlanta Painting Co. to do our project. The experience I had was okay at best to be honest. As a customer, I felt that there was some miscommunication going on between the actual painters and project manager. I didn't meet the PM until the completion date. Painters missed an entire area section of the home on the first pass and they had to return to touch up smaller areas. I reached out to try to get a discount on my final price and was told it could not happen without taking away my previously agreed upon 10 year warranty which was in the contract.

I had already put in a deposit to get the job started. I ended up paying full price to be done with the situation and left the small problems as they were. At least I can call to get things corrected with the warranty I guess. I would go look somewhere else for options if I was a new customer. Working with an independent contractor instead of a middle man and sub contractor will get you the same result for cheaper.

I have used Atlanta Painting company several times now. They have painted the full external of our home and recently came in to do a full room renovation which included removing old cabinets and shelving, flooring removal and new floor installation, new trim molding and final painting. Through the whole process, they were very organized and communicated very efficiently. The work was done very well, and on time. I would recommend using them and i will continue to use them for future projects. Thanks all for a great job.

Juan Guerrero and his brother, Jomar, were on time, professional, clean, and exacting in their work! They were on time, communicative, and very cooperative. They went to great lengths to protect the floors, but their painting was so neat and clean that they hardly required all that prevention! We had called many companies for estimates, and for two of them we got the message, The party you are trying to.

We had a great experience with The Painting Company of Atlanta. We had the entire inside of our home painted as it had not been entirely painted for many years (working hard and raising kids. So, it was time for freshening). The painters were punctual, professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and skilled. They moved heavy furniture and objects. and communicated with me throughout the process.

They took a tired home to looking new again. Special note: The Painting Company painted the insides of all closets, the ceilings, trim and walls, garage and hot water heater closet, bonus room and all doors, and sanded two room ceilings to make them smooth. Whew! It was a HUGE job that they.

Highly recommend this very professional company that did an extensive replacement of aged and damaged cedar on the exterior of my home. Everything was meticulously replaced, caulked and painted and made the house look like new! Great crew, very professional and on time.
