I work in energy and know many people in the community so it was hard to decide who to use. However, Marty and his team made the process very easy. TruNorth Solar was responsive, spent time walking me through all of the questions, and let me know what to expect through the whole experience. During the install his team was clean, courteous, and very professional.

They were also all a joy to talk to and work with. Given my interest in the process, they spent time talking to me about the work and the steps they were taking. I always was kept up to do date on what was happening. They got the panels in right when the snow was ready to melt so we could maximize our annual production. I would highly suggest Marty and the team at TruNorth.

Like all these other customers we had a wonderful experience with TruNorth Solar during every part of the process of adding solar panels to our south Minneapolis house. We also spoke with many providers but chose TruNorth Solar and didn't regret it! Every person we met clearly took a lot of pride in their work and we'd recommend them to anyone!

We had a fantastic experience with TruNorth Solar. We gathered quotes from 3-4 different solar companies but found TruNorth to be the best intersection of price and quality compared to the other installers. We were impressed by their willingness to draft several different designs until we landed on one that would work best for our specific situation.

The permitting and solar rewards program process wasn't as clear as I would have liked (signing lots of documents without too much information) but I think that is more due to our utility's process rather than TruNorth. In terms of the installation process, TruNorth was very accommodating as we had to keep adjusting the installation date due to the need to resolve some roofing issues first.

During the install day, all of the staff on-site were willing to answer all of our questions and keep us informed of the progress. Overall, a great experience from start to end. Highly recommended!

This will be a longer review than normal, but I can't say enough good about TruNorth Solar. They are fabulous at what they do, they're really pleasant to work with, and they're smart. Our situation was unusually complicated because we wanted to do a mid-size rooftop solar installation while we were also subscribed to a community solar garden. Jeff Williams, James Drummond, and TruNorth's founder, Marty Morud, worked closely with us and Xcel to determine how that would work.

The rooftop system we wanted, combined with our existing solar garden subscription, left us slightly "oversubscribed" by Xcel's guidelines, so we had to trim (sell) part of our community solar subscription before Xcel would approve the interconnection agreement for our rooftop array. We were kept informed throughout the process, and everything went smoothly despite the complexity. TruNorth offered the best price we found, and they made an unusually complex project very easy for us. Highly recommended.

We were referred to TruNorth Solar by a past client who is a friend of ours, from the beginning we could tell that we were working with professionals. Jeff was very knowledgeable and helpful during our initial meeting which was conducted via Zoom. The team was able to tweak the proposal based on our needs and handled everything from design, coordinating with city & local utilities for inspections, and explained everything to us in detail so we were very confident in our decision to add solar to our new home in Maple Grove.

Very happy with experience with TruNorth Solar. They did a good job scoping the system realistically, the energy production I am getting from the system is in general agreement with what they forecasted I would get. If you have a roof with good sunshine, I highly recommend contacting TruNorth to have them evaluate solar for your property. They are honest from start to finish and have a great quality product/service. I am both pleased with the financial result of installing the solar system and making a significant dent in our household carbon consumption.

We looked at a number of solar companies, and we decided on TruNorth. This company outshone others in service and quality, and through their cooperative buying program in price as well! They were a true joy to work with. My partner is extremely detail oriented, and he asked every question possible. The team was extremely gracious and quick to respond.

The service from every person we interacted with was superb from the installers to the project manager to the salesperson. We have complete confidence in the work they did not only because it was clear they were dotting every I, but also because they were completely transparent with all of it. We have had the system for a couple of months now. It's working great and it's so fun to track our production on the app!

TruNorth Solar installed solar panels on our roof in January. They were friendly and easy to work with- excellent project managers and communicators, and they completed the work quickly. We love the app they offer that allows you to track how your panels are producing. We would highly recommend them to others considering solar!

We did a lot of research, got several bids and checked references prior to selecting a solar energy company to install our rooftop system. In the end there was one company that stood out amongst the rest: TruNorth Solar. From the initial meeting to discuss our desire to install a solar solution to the day we flipped the switch and turned the system on, the TruNorth employees we worked with were great.

They were all knowledgeable, professional, polite, easy to work with and very responsive by answering our multitude of questions throughout the process. From consulting with us on the viability of Solar on our house, to engineering an excellent solution, to working with our Home Owners Association, to working with Excel to connect our system, they made the process smooth and easy. TruNorth Solar assessed our house for solar panels, did site analysis and an engineering plan, helped us apply for electric company incentives, and then installed a 3.6 kwh solar panel array on our roof. Every part of the process was a very positive experience for us. To receive the electric company rebate, we needed to get our application in months before the planned installation. Marty (one of the owners) was very knowledgable about the application process.

Once we were approved, TruNorth Solar allowed us to schedule the installation at our convenience. Marty kept us informed throughout the process and installation went pretty much exactly as he had planned. We've had the system up for over 5 years now (installed July 2012) and it has operated flawlessly over that time. We have a monitoring system that tracks the performance of each of our 15 panels, which we love.

In May of 2017, we needed to have our roof replaced due to faulty shingles. Once we discovered this, we worked with TruNorth to decommission our array and store it in our garage while the new roof work took place. Once again, the entire team was amazing, prompt, courteous and knowledgable about everything. In the time since the array had been installed, a new house was constructed on the lot to our south, with the shadow from that new house causing the bottom few inches of the panels to not receive sunlight during the winter months.

After discussing this with Marty and team, they managed to raise the panels up slightly higher on the roof when reinstalling the system. We also discovered squirrel damage to several of the wires under the panels. We opted to have them install a squirrel guard around the array, to help prevent them from any future damage. Overall we couldn't be happier with our solar array or TruNorth Solar for their help in making our home less of a burden on the earth.

Hands down, TruNorth Solar is the best solar installer in Minnesota! We had 8 different installers come out to make a bid and proposal. TruNorth felt right from the very beginning and finished right through to the end. We had several permitting snags and TruNorth was able to navigate the complicated waters of communities who don't quite have a solar friendly policy just yet and get us up and running without further problems. Their team was courteous and professional from planning to paperwork to installation. 6 stars for TruNorth on a 5 star Google rating system. because they're that good!

When we evaluated whether solar was right for us, TruNorth Solar laid out the facts honestly and with no reservation in every conversation we had. From the initial design to the eventual build, each employee showed their excitement for solar and genuine wish to see that we were happy with the end product. We are extremely pleased with our array, so much so that we may add another.

My husband and I have just had the privilege of working with Marty Morud who installed 36 solar panels on our 1916 year old house in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis. I cannot rave enough about Marty's work. He presented us with thoughtful options, helped us to select the best for our situation, kept to a schedule and delivered services in a timely manner.

Our solar panels were installed in late August. The crew was conscientious about ensuring good-looking installation. We were pleasantly surprised when the bill for September's gas and electricity arrived - 13 cents! With the 30% federal tax credit and Made in Minnesota payments during the first 10 years, investing in solar makes great financial sense.

It was a pleasure working with you and your Team at TruNorth Solar. From start to finish the communication that I received from you and the installation crews was nothing short of exceptional. As you know I did extensive research on not only the panel system but the structure and hardware that the panels will be fastened too for the next several decades.

My wife and I were both very impressed with the level of service we received from TruNorth. When we originally decide to have solar installed we got quotes from TruNorth and two of their competitors. We ended up selecting one of the other installers which turned out to be a huge mistake. The project basically didn't go anywhere for 7 months and the level of communication was terrible.

My Fiance and I have been meeting with Marty and Chris over the past couple of weeks, and are thrilled to have had the opportunity to meet them both. Both very knowledgeable and professional creative and open minded different designs to make a system reach peak efficiency as well as our personal needs.
