I contacted Harder through Yelp.l for a breaker issue. They were able to squeeze us in same day! Will be coming back for our less urgent issue. Amazing responsiveness. Other companies I called days earlier hadn't even returned my call. Have recommended to friends already

Harder electric is a great company to work with. We were having issues with our main breaker at the house tripping and not resetting. They came out and diagnosed the issue and offered a solution. We ended up upgrading our service and panel. Harder accomodated our needs quickly as we were without power for a couple days, they got us up and running quckly.

Answered my questions very promptly. I had difficulty with central radiant heating, needed work on the actuators and manifold.

Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. I have been avoiding calling them in regards to some issues they have left a few years back when they replaced our panel. Finally called them and now they want to charge me more for the work they never completed. These people only complain about how difficult the work they are doing when you are. a first time home buyer just looking for help on updating your old house. DO NOT ACCEPT VERBAL AGREEMENTS from them.

They do not follow through. And then I get a call back and owner gives me attitude on the phone and hangs up on mewhich he seems to think is reasoning with me! terrible customer service. spend your money somewhere else where they appreciate you as a customer.

First off, no work done. Wanted electric to shed from house. Discussed work requested and the additional work to be added "if you want a permit." That was in the summer. Claimed busy with HVAC work, and said I would call. Called in October, didn't get on schedule until mid-December. Called to confirm a permit the day before, and couldn't be bothered, so work was postponed. Received a call in the new year and said they couldn't schedule for another 2 weeks.

I asked for a revised written estimate as I'd had recent issues with another contractor. The verbal estimate without any details about the work done was significantly more than the original estimate. I was told by receptionist that she "could understand if I wanted to look for another contractor." I feel like making it unpleasant so that I go away was the game plan from the moment I insisted on a permit. Want work done professionally by the book? Look elsewhere.

I was having intermittent furnace issues, after being overcharged a flat rate for basic diagnostic and cleaning from a national company ($220 for 45 min), I called Harder Electrical. He was able to show up the same day I called, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly, keeping me up to date as he worked. His rates were very competitive and worked with me on the price. I would definitely recommend and plan on using his company for any additional plumbing/heating work.

The swamp cooler Dave installed just last summer was experiencing the same issue for the 3rd time. Rather than fixing it he screamed at me on the phone that I am a "stupid bitch" multiple times and then hung up on me.

Dave Harder is an honest and dependable guy. Showed up on time and replaced my furnace and hot water vent which had been previously installed incorrectly! They got the job done in about an hours time. Left zero mess and I feel confident that the job is correct. Truly professional! In the future all my HVAC/electrical and mechanical needs will be addressed by Harder Electrical and Mechanical, a company with an owner who cares and employees that are reliable and professional.

I called them out to repair a loud screeching swamp cooler. I had difficulty explaining to the receptionist what was wrong. The service guy could find nothing wrong except that the unit was old & needed replacement (not true-only 6-years old). Naturally the screeching stated again right after he left. Dave came out but by then the motor bearings had seized.

He sent serviceman out to replace it. Another company had replaced the motor on out rental next door ( identical unit). Cost was about double this time. Last week I called about a furnace flue leaking like a sieve in the rain. The receptionist had no idea what I was talking about but made an appointment for 8 am today. No show so I called. She had no idea what I was calling about because it was not on her schedule. Finally remembering she had intended to ask Dave if he did such repairs this morning. I let her know that I would never be bothering her by calling again.

I requested a quote to convert to refrigerated air and an appointment was set up. A couple hours before the appt I get a voicemail saying there was an emergency with another customer and asking if we could reschedule. Not a big deal. I call back and confirm the new appt for a couple days later. The day of the new appt, I rush home to make sure I'm there well before the scheduled time.

New appt time rolls around and nobody ever shows up. I figured I'd get a call with an explanation and maybe an offer to reschedule again. It has been over a week now and I haven't heard anything.

I'm a 3-time returning customer of HARDER ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL SERVICES - just because they are SO GOOD! This time, I needed a few security cameras installed around my stucco house, plus associated wiring throughout the attic to be set up, and HARDERS responded immediately: Of Course they can Do It! On the scheduled day, they arrived precisely ON TIME, and proceeded to begin working my problem - which was really hard because of my severely cramped attic space. But, they successfully did it within a few hours!

Really Impressive. Super tech Tim had no problem crawling through my attic, laying the cables, and setting up the security cameras - even helping align and focus them. This is really an Outstanding Company! Highly recommended - AGAIN!

Dave Harder, the owner, couldn't be a nicer guy. He explained all the options for replacing our 40 year old failing furnace and explained all the advantages and disadvantages of each of them and made a recommendation. I did a little research, called him back and went with his recommendation. Two days later Dave and his employee Tim were doing the install.

They were polite, friendly and clean. They both obviously take pride in their work and it absolutely showed in how great the install looks and how warm my house is on this 20 degree night. I will absolutely call Harder Electrical for any future work.

I highly recommend Harder Electric! I am so glad I called Dave for the freon leak in my AC. He was able to get out the next day, he was very friendly and confident in his work, explaining everything. He is very thorough in his work. He even took the time to call me later in the day to make sure the AC was running right. It works like a dream!

Last month I moved into a new house and needed to have floodlights installed in the front and in the back. Based on previous YELP reviews, I selected HARDER ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL SERVICES, and I'm very glad I did! The electrician Tim came out first to scope the job, then came again right on schedule to do the work. He was extremely professional, . skillful, and fully explained any questions I had.

He had to remove some drywall to get at the existing circuits, and he was extremely precise in making cuts - and he even cleaned up the dust afterwards. He set up my lights exactly where I wanted them - despite a thick roof beam he drilled through - and they work perfectly. He even aimed them in the directions I wanted. He was fast and efficient. I am absolutely satisfied with the great job Mr. Super Tim did, and I highly recommend Harder Electrical.

Dave Harder is great! We'd called him last Spring for a new furnace estimate, liked him a lot and felt his prices were reasonable, but thought we'd try to hang on for another year before spending the $$$- of course this Nov. on the day of the 1st snow our 24 year old furnace went down! We called Dave and he came over within 30 minutes! He fussed with several things- cleaned pieces, replaced the thermostat, and got our freezing house warm again-He even stayed long enough to make sure his fixes held! We will definitely be using him to replace our furnace this Spring (if it holds on till then!), and any other electrical issues! We can't recommend him highly enough!

OMG OMG Dave SAVED us in a bind and came on a same day to fix our air conditioner.he fit us in and found the part, retrieved it, replaced it, and got it working again on a day when it was triple digit heat He was pleasant, professional, efficient and the cost was not horrible considering it was a same day emergency! Then again. I would have given him my first born!

We had called Albuquerque Plumbing & Heating, which the unit was warranted under and they were complete assholes! No compassion, no care, and horrible customer service! All I can say is Dave has customers FOREVER in us after this experience and we are forever THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, and HAPPY that we found him and his adorable son THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Hotter than hell New Mexico summer is trying to do push into neighborhood I decided to do preventive AC maintenance. I send message via Yelp quote and Dave called within two hours. Dave came to home hour early due to his other services ended earlier. He checked both of my AC and replaced one AC control unit. He also inspected both of my air furnaces and advised me to use different air filters to help me extend life of my AC units. I had very pleasant conversation about AC, and general topics. I will definitely contact Dave for any future electrical and plumbing needs.

On-time, budget conscious, courteous, attention to detail and always a job well done are just a few ways I would describe my experiences with Harder Electric. I am very picky and appreciate someone who is also detail oriented, which is why my first call is to Dave whenever I have something in his areas of expertise.

Our thermostat magically broke down one weekend in the cold of winter (meaning no heat). After seeing the reviews on Yelp, I sent Harder an email Sunday night, but did not hear back electronically. So, I called the following Monday afternoon and was surprised to hear that they could fit me into their schedule the very next day at 8 am. The electrician arrived promptly at 8 and fixed our thermostat within a few minutes - holy crapoli - we had heat again!

I also told him about another problem we were having with our electrical wiring in our pantry/laundry room. Since he was there, he went ahead and fixed this problem as well (even though it was not a priority like the heat). The bill was reasonable and we really appreciated getting prompt and efficient service. They take credit cards onsite. I would use again.

Where to begin. Congenial, respectful, professional, on-time, but the work Dave, Tim and Manny did was superb. My house was infested by 13 electrical-code violations done by someone who was only licensed to do plumbing work (and it showed).

Excellent contractor! Constant communication, actually called day of service to ask if we would like an earlier time of service as he was in the area and previous job took less time than expected.

Dave is always on time, always has a smile on his face and always does an excellent job in changing out our furnace or AC (depending on whether it is summer or winter). He is one in a million and a keeper.

Like most residents of this strange town, we cool our home during the summer with something we affectionately call a "swamp cooler". Dear foreigner, don't get any wild ideas. Ain't no Creature from the Black Lagoon livin' up on my roof. It's basically a big ol' metal box that uses this futuristic technology (via the 1850's) to capture evaporated water into waffle-ish pads and the air gets pumped into my house for decent. eh, make that piss-poor temperature control.

The whole thing is a sham. It's ridiculous. The whole thing. To think of the time I've wasted trying to make that bastard work. Ahem. Like most residents, my swamp cooler is also directly connected to my furnace. Unlike most homeowners in the U.S., New Mexicans must make a decision to switch from cooling (swamp) to warming (furnace) all at once.

It involves sliding a metal slab into the swamp beast, cleaning the box, draining the water line and correctly hooking up the heater. It isn't complicated but I'll be damned if I don't repeatedly fuck this up, somehow. I've been through enough trial and massive error to accept the fact that I need to pay a professional to do it right.

This year, I Yelped for help. Dave from Harder arrived as scheduled and distinguished my manhood in about 45 minutes. Our furnace is in full effect and the Creature is hibernating happily on the roof. Dave is a really interesting dude and he's efficient. Thanks, Yelp.
