I was down to 1 key for my 2003 Toyota Sequoia. I needed more keys. My last key was a Valet key. I checked with two Toyota dealerships. Both said they could take care of my keys over the phone. Both had VIN#. I brought my vehicle in to each one and dropped it off for the day. But each one couldn't do it. At least not without, "by they way we have to reset / change-out the ECU and that will be another $1000".
I don't fault the dealerships or the young people working there. They are following their Toyota script and they don't know any different. But Affordable Solutions was able to make me extra keys and figure it out. They had the knowledge, the tools, and they did it very conveniently in a few minutes. This is what they do! Recap. Dealership 1 & 2. Phone call. VIN.
We can do it. About $400. Drop for the day. Sorry we cannot do it, without an extra $1000. Affordable Solutions. Phone call. We can do it. 10 minute stop and they were done for $200.

Was quoted a price over the phone to get ANOTHER key/fob made for our car so we rushed down to their location. The office is junk/unkempt, smells of cigarettes & the customer service was lacking so severely that we walked out WITHOUT our key BECAUSE between the rudeness of the man who met us & his WHOLE ATTITUDE (all of a sudden the price changed as well) I would much rather flush $ down the toilet OR go to the car dealer.

I was locked out of my new house on a horribly rainy night. The 2nd locksmith to come out and try to pick the lock was there for 45 minutes trying, broke his tool off in the lock, and then the LOCKSMITH called Mike because he said he's best in the business. Mike drove to Glenwood Iowa at 10pm and picked the deadbolt and handle in 30 seconds. I gave him 1 1/2 times the amount he quoted (a generous tip for such a late call so far away in the rain). He declined the tip. AMAZING GUY.

I would have given this "locksmith" a lesser of a star if I could. When I first called them I got a very unwelcoming hello. As if I had interrupted him of some sort. When I asked his name not only did he respond with his name very snotty but sarcastically - to the point where I do not even remember his name. When I got a quote from him ($65) I was asked if I had my own key to which I replied yes.
When I arrived at the location it was it a discombobulated mess in their "office". The same uninterested man who answer the phone was the one who I had encountered. I have him my key and told him I needed the copy made and programmed that I had just inquired about. When he asked for the "other key" I became confused and asked what he was referring to.
His reply was so condescending and unpleasant. "The quote I GAVE YOU was for a key that you ALREADY HAD". I thought the key I needed was the one he had in his hand. No. That was not made apparent. When I asked him the quote on what I needed at that point - the original $65 doubled to almost $130. The man was so unbelievably rude, condescending, and not to mention VERY unwelcoming.
He not only lost a customer in his less than desirable attitude but I will be sure to make note that if I, or anyone I know, need a copy of a key or anything this business offers - I will NOT be referring this business but I will be telling people to NOT go to this location.
