A particular project type that's becoming more popular is modifying a house to accommodate an older generation. People raising families today have been called the sandwich generation. Many families are are raising their children while also taking care of their parents. Tom can help modify your home to accomodate three generations living under one roof.

Interior Renovations
Report
Like additions and new homes, renovations come in many shapes and sizes. The difference is that the work is kept within the confines of the original structure. Sometimes the zoning of a property won't allow an addition to be built, and sometimes it just makes more sense to improve how an existing space functions.

Tom Wilcox's work is outstanding. His skill allows him to re-design a home's facade, to add an addition, or completely re-design an interior of a home all the while making it look as though the house was originally built that way. He is creative, has a solution for everything and as a human being is absolutely delightful to work with. Even when the going gets tough, his calm and patient personality make the journey thoroughly enjoyable. Tom is busy because he works at a high-level so it may take a while but it is absolutely worth the wait!

As a Residential General Contractor for over 30 years, I've had countless interactions with Architects. In my experience, Tom is one of the best! He always takes the time to understand that what he is designing can actually be executed successfully, and is always there when a question or decision needs to be made. You can't go wrong enlisting this guy to design your project.

Tom helped us with three different projects in our 1909 Hyde Park home: a garage attachment, adding a master bath/laundry room, expanded closet space, and opening up our kitchen to the living room. He was very professional and knowledgeable, stopped by to check out the progression of construction. We would recommend him for any project.

We have a 1930's English Tudor that we wanted a family room added on. Tom Wilcox designed a "Seamless addition" that looks stunning. and original. When we have guests, they can't believe it is an addition since it blends in so well. During the construction he was on site a lot making sure everything went according to his specifications. We would recommend Wilcox Architecture to anyone that is contemplating building or remodeling their current house. Carol and Joel

Tom Wilcox is astute, creative, professional, careful-to-detail, perceptive. His ideas, his drawings and his continued follow-up with the contractors throughout our kitchen and family room remodel were invaluable. Our new space has no additional added floor space but it now has great workable and livable areas. We love our finished product and we'll be always grateful to Tom for his help. We will contact him again for other projects that are needed in our 110 year-old home. Much more than five stars.

We had an excellent experience with Tom Wilcox. We hired him to draw up plans for a Master Bedroom and Bath for our 1940's Cape Cod style home. Tom was extremely creative with our space and kept with the feel and style of our home. He was always professional, friendly, listened to our ideas and understood our needs.

Our family lives in a large Victorian home in a Historic Neighborhood, built in 1882. We had a challenge on our hands when we sought to enhance our family's living and social space on a fairly small lot which we ambitiously wanted to populate with a new swimming pool, landscaping, three car garage, mud room, family room and bathhouse/bar.

Thirty-five years ago, I bought a small summer cottage on the shore of Little Glen Lake in Leelanau County, Michigan. I dreamt to someday make this spot my permanent home. That dream has been realized with the thoughtful, creative, and expert skills of Tom Wilcox. He sat down with me and we went through thirty-five years of pictures, notes and ideas.

Tom designed a family room addition for our English Tudor style house. His design is a seamless addition off the living room. When people come to our home they are surprised to learn that the addition is not part of the original 1930's construction. We were impressed with Tom's diligent oversight and attention to detail throughout the construction process.
