Since earning her interior design degree in 1978 from the University of Florida's School of Architecture, Karen has collaborated with clients from Key West to Cape Cod. The arc of her 36-year professional design career includes 13 years at architectural firms and five years with a residential interior design firm.

With this background, Karen established Benson & Associates in 1996 focusing on the space planning and interior architectural needs of her commercial and residential design clients. She is a former ASID board member and has served as a NCIDQ examination juror.

Inspired is the best way to describe the talents of this group: from layout and design to the final touches. Karen helped me craft the perfect plan for a major remodel of a kitchen/laundry/master bath and closet. In just over an hour, Karen sat down with the alternatives to capture the best of each and produced the layout before my eyes that was it!

Karen and Michelle did a wonderful job of helping us transform our seasonal residence into our full time home. This involved totally reimagining our space and living areas. They beautifully incorporated our favorite pieces into the space with carefully selected additions and colors. They are very talented and creative, and are lovely to work with.
