Alex Filler's interest in working with plants started in high school when he got a job at Woodley's Garden Center in Northeast Columbia. He loved working with people and learning about gardening. This interest grew as he volunteered with AmeriCorps City Year. Alex worked specifically with the "Green Team", teaching Boston public school students about recycling and the environment.
He also spent a summer as a park ranger on Lovell's Island in Boston Harbor. All these experiences led Alex to conclude that working outside was a necessity. After getting a Horticulture degree at Trident Technical College, Alex set out to combine the parts of horticulture he likes best-high quality work, environmentally-friendly products and excellent customer service.

Alex has been helping me with the yard work for a year now. He never wastes time. Goes right to work. His work is excellent; neat and complete. He has planted many plants, helped me take a limb down, cleaned and straightened materials in the yard and helped me wrap my fruit tree with netting to prevent the squirrels from eating them. His manner is professional and pleasant.
