Bismarck Heating and Air Conditioning Inc specializes in the design and build of residential and commercial HVAC work.

Absolutely amazing experience with bismarck heating and air! Last spring we moved into a mobile home in bismarck and when summer came around we noticed the a/c didn't work. We called a place in town (I won't mention the business as to not slander them) and they told us we would need a whole new unit and it was going to be around $7000. We didn't have the money for that so we just got some window units and a portable unit and made do until this year.
Well I called bismarck heating and air and super friendly customer service helped me get scheduled! When the guy came out he took a quick look at the unit and said the unit is fine.through searching it was found that the wires to the a/c unit were completely disconnected inside! He connected the wires for us and checked our freon and we were up and running!
He saved us a ton of money and a huge headache for something that wasn't even broken! I am forever thankful for them and their work! Absolutely a customer as long as I live here!

I can't stress enough how amazing BH&A are when it comes to helping customers! They are kind, patient and absolutely helpful when you cant figure out what's going on with your furnace or thermostat. I wish more companies were like this! I will always call them when it comes to needing my heat or air conditioner fixed. Also thank you so much Hillary, You are the sweetest and understanding. Haven't had a GREAT experience or conversation with customer service in awhile. Your such a great Customer Assistant! Thank you again!

On one of the coldest days we have had this year service was denied until my daughter could prove the bill was going to be paid! I own the home she lives in, have owned it for thirty years. I have had BHandA install and maintenance my air conditioner and heating over the years. As a single mom at the time, I found them to be very pleasant and reasonable, however, at this time apparently past customers are not given any grace.
How disappointing to find out I have been put in a category with the few bad apples that don't pay their bills even though I'm not one of them! The owner was adamant about this no tolerance policy how sad!

We should have been leery of this company when we were told that payment was required at time of service but they were rated "Best of the Best" so we thought we would give them a try. The guy that came out was very friendly. He said they didn't deal with our brand of furnace and that he wasn't getting any error codes. (My husband had written them down to help him troubleshoot.) He fiddled around for a while, refilled the AC and left.
After running a couple of cycles the unit put out the codes again. We figured we needed to call someone else. The other company came out, diagnosed the problem immediately and told us that the current state of the furnace was UNSAFE and that it was putting out Carbon Monoxide! I've read reviews left by other dissatisfied customers and the manager always says nasty things about the customer, so I fully expect to be blasted for my review.
That speaks volumes. UPDATE : Notice how, according to the owner of this company, every critical review for this company is either a "fake" review or the customer's fault? I called your company when the weather was cold overnight and warm in the daytime. That is when the AC unit was filled. I posted my review after another company solved my problem.
The person you sent out told me you don't carry the brand of my furnace. He said he could order parts but they would be more expensive and I would be better off calling the company that installed it. He also told me my house, "might be a house that can't be cooled, some houses are like that". It was obvious he didn't know what he was doing and didn't want to deal with it.
As for "was it a furnace or AC issue?" Guess what an AC unit is connected to in a house? A furnace. I would have thought an owner of an HVAC company would know that. I only leave 1 star reviews when they are deserved. The HVAC company that fixed my problem got 5 stars. Maybe instead of writing nasty, snarky responses to the legitimate concerns of your customers, you should take responsibility for the subpar service your company is providing. (See invoice: "Cannot fix what isn't broken." "Cannot guarantee how long charge will hold." CANNOT being the key word.) Readers can see that we were actual customers despite your accusations to the contrary. I blocked out our info to avoid being bullied. Professionals shouldn't verbally attack anyone.

They came over quickly and diagnosed my central air unit. It was close to 20 years old and it was out of freon. They could have refilled it at a cost of $600 for the freon but that could have leaked out in a week or a month. In stead of spending money on an old unit, I received a quote on a new one and they installed it the next day. We are very happy with the new air conditioner and the quick installation!

We used Bismarck Heating and Air to completely replace a boiler system with a furnace. This involved complete duct work, new furnace, a/c and water heater. They were great to work with! Andy and Mike(?) did the install and they were fantastic! Very friendly and did great work. They were also great with the two toddlers and dogs running around. We had them working on heating during the height of a/c season, so naturally we weren't high priority in terms of scheduling (I prefer that they prioritize broken a/c's when its over 100 outside!) But when they said they were coming they always showed up and on time!
They even cleaned up after themselves with vacuuming and taking the trash with them! We had quotes from a few companies and they were definitely the best price (and most of the companies never even got back to us). We will always choose this company first.

Chris and his family are Angels in disguise. Not knowing us, my brothers youngest 8 yr old son needed heart surgery to replace a valve at Mayo, and we had a breakfast to help raise money for the surgery, Chris and his family were very generous and stepped in to help. Their generosity and the love they have for family is the reason they will always be our families heating and air family.
Thanks again Chris, as my nephew grows, the valve won't, he will need more surgeries to keep replacing it. Your family and your business is the reason Bismarck is the best place to raise a family. You won't find anyone else who genuinely cares about your well being than Bismarck Heating and Air! My dad's air conditioning unit quit working, and he made sure to call you guys and you came right away and fixed it. You guys are great!

Our furnace went out during one of the coldest weeks this winter and thankfully Bismarck Heating & Air was able to come within the hour, check to see what the problem was and come to install a new unit within a day! They were not only very timely and helpful but helped make it affordable for us! Highly recommend! Service: Heating system installation

This past December I came across a post on Facebook with a person pleading for help. Her daughter was in desperate need of a new furnace and could not afford it. She was looking for recommendations on where to go for help. In the post comments, I noticed that Bismarck Heating and Air offered to supply the unit, free of charge. Inspired by their generosity, I offered to pay for the labor.
Along with a real estate agent friend of mine, the three of us were able to provide this neighbor with the ability to heat their home. It is businesses like this that best represent our community. After doing a little research, I discovered that this is not an uncommon practice of theirs. They are well known for doing what needs to be done for those who are less fortunate, providing several heating units per year for those who would not be able to purchase one.
Now I understand, those of us who can afford their services will pay for it. I mean, they are in business to stay in business. But I think it is a rarity that a business will go above and beyond the call of duty to help those in need. I support Bismarck Heating and Air, as they support our community. I called a couple different companies for after hours service to repair my A/C. This is the only company that returned my call. And they returned it quickly. The tech. That was dispatched was here faster that expected. He was very friendly and repaired my A/C unit in 15 minutes. Bismarck Heating and Air has just earned all my future HVAC business and I will be sure to recommend them. Great service goes a long way. Thank You.

I purchased new home 2012 ( new construction) bh&a did orig install. 2017.five years after install compressor on outside unit went bad. 5 years? Really junk. So i call late friday have service guy come out. They say to busy to send guy friday will sen sat morning. 150.00 charge He shows and advises compressor bad maybe maybe not warrnty covered? New system 5500.00 (more junk im sure)Then advises they do not have a compressor that that they sell and install in stock.
They will have to order ( monday if it covered under warranty ). Called monday 10 am replacement compressor (junk ) still has not been ordered. The lady advises due to pricing around a compressor cost. Still not ordered will advise The only reason i gave 2 stars service guy nice and knowledgable (mike) Stay away from bismarck heating and air money means more than honesty and customer service.
Honor the product you install. Oh btw this is all during record bismarck heat wave. Thanks bismarck heating and air Update i called 9am monday to get info. Bh&a had no answers yet. I advised current temps maybe some compassion. I get vm 0435 pm late afternoon mon That they would honor warranty on compressor but it would cost 800.00 to replace said part. and oh btw they still had not ordered part. Going on day four since contacting bh&a.only definite answers i have after contacting bh&a pricing and sales 5 stars fast. Repair and customer service 1 star

Dishonest company that will not stand behind their work. They are great if everything goes as planned. But when you have an issue they don't know how to fix it and still charge you for it. Called another company in Bismarck and they knew how to fix it and works perfectly now. Wasted lots of $$$$ with Bismarck Heating and Air.

They have been out 3 times now and can't fix our AC unit from freezing. Last year they charged us to put freon in thinking that it fixed the problem and it did not. This year they charged us to take the same freon that they put in to take back out. AC unit still freezes up, they are not willing to come out and look without charging another service fee.

Our home was flooded and mold had grown in the duct work and furnace, Bismarck heating was called for an estimate. Mark came out and was very sympathetic to our troubles. He had an estimate back to us within the day and the install was scheduled for the following Monday. Once the installers got there they unloaded and got to work right away.

The people who posted here about their carpet were trying to get FAR more than a simple carpet replacement. Bismarck Heating was more than willing to replace the carpet through our insurance company, (which is exactly WHY you carry insurance) but this customer insisted it be replaced with FAR higher quality carpet than previously existed and NOW!
